Archaea use a variety of small basic proteins to package their DNA. One of the most widespread and highly conserved is the Alba (Sso10b) protein. Alba interacts with both DNA and RNA in vitro, and we show in the present study that it binds more tightly ...

Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Decoupling Epigenetic and Genetic Effects through Systematic Analysis of Gene Position
Classic “position-effect” experiments repositioned genes near telomeres to demonstrate that the epigenetic landscape can dramatically alter gene expression.

Glycogen Synthase Kinase (GSK) 3β phosphorylates and protects nuclear myosin 1c from proteasome-mediated degradation to activate rDNA transcription in early G1 cells [PDF]
Nuclear myosin 1c (NM1) mediates RNA polymerase I (pol I) transcription activation and cell cycle progression by facilitating PCAF-mediated H3K9 acetylation, but the molecular mechanism by which NM1 is regulated remains unclear.

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

A supervised learning framework for chromatin loop detection in genome-wide contact maps
Predicting chromatin loops from genome-wide interaction matrices such as Hi-C data provides insight into gene regulation events. Here, the authors present Peakachu, a Random Forest classification framework that predicts chromatin loops from genome-wide ...

The nuclear pore complex : its role in chromatin structure and RNA export [PDF]
Epigenetic regulation of gene expression is a relatively new and rapidly developing research field. It studies the mechanisms of regulation of gene expression, which although heritable, occur independently of changes in the DNA sequence and certainly aid

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
