Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are optimized to co‐deliver Cas9‐encoding messenger RNA (mRNA), a single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the endogenous cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, and homologous linear double‐stranded donor DNA (ldsDNA) templates encoding CFTR.

Bipolar localization of a chromosome partition protein in Bacillus subtilis [PDF]
We have determined the subcellular localization of the chromosome partition protein Spo0J of Bacillus subtilis by immunofluorescence microscopy and visualizing fluorescence of a Spo0J–GFP fusion protein. Spo0J was associated with a region of the nucleoid proximal to the cell pole, both in growing cells dividing ...

Cerebral organoids are transforming brain research, yet the field remains fragmented. This comprehensive systematic review maps 738 studies published between 2014 and 2024 to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities across neuroscience. Introducing OrganoidMap—an interactive, open‐access platform to explore and compare models—this work enables ...

Chromosome segregation in Archaea mediated by a hybrid DNA partition machine [PDF]
Eukarya and, more recently, some bacteria have been shown to rely on a cytoskeleton-based apparatus to drive chromosome segregation. In contrast, the factors and mechanisms underpinning this fundamental process are underexplored in archaea, the third domain of life. Here we establish that the archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus

Endogenous 2μ Plasmid Editing for Pathway Engineering in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, conventional 2μ-plasmid based plasmid (pC2μ, such as pRS425) have been widely adopted in pathway engineering for multi-copy overexpression of key genes. However, the loss of partition and copy number control elements of yeast

A versatile approach is presented for fabricating smart multifunctional textiles by integrating thermo‐fluorescent carbon dot/polymer nanocomposite coatings with 3D‐printed interlocked architectures. The fabrics exhibit temperature‐responsive fluorescence, durable hydrophobicity, strong antibacterial and antioxidant activity, and enhanced UV protection.

Dissimilarity Clustering by Hierarchical Multi-Level Refinement [PDF]
We introduce in this paper a new way of optimizing the natural extension of the quantization error using in k-means clustering to dissimilarity data. The proposed method is based on hierarchical clustering analysis combined with multi-level heuristic ...

Nuclear metabolism oscillates during cell cycle progression. Quantitative chromatome proteomics and imaging reveal phase‐specific dynamics of PIP5K1A and nuclear PIP2, linking phosphatidylinositol metabolism to histone methylation. This work identifies nuclear lipid metabolism as a previously unrecognized regulatory axis coordinating chromatin ...

Septal localization of the SpoIIIE chromosome partitioning protein in Bacillus subtilis [PDF]
The 787 amino acid SpoIIIE protein of Bacillus subtilis is required for chromosome partitioning during sporulation. This process differs from vegetative chromosome partitioning in that it occurs after formation of the septum, apparently by transfer of the chromosome through the nascent septum in a manner reminiscent of plasmid conjugation. Here we show

Background During sexual reproduction in the unicellular ciliate Stylonychia somatic macronuclei differentiate from germline micronuclei. Thereby, programmed sequence reduction takes place, leading to the elimination of > 95% of germline sequences, which
