This review highlights how Phytophthora sojae utilizes unconventional lineage‐specific signaling networks, including unique G protein‐coupled receptor fusions, expanded kinases, and rapidly evolving effectors, to infect soybeans. Understanding these divergent molecular paradigms reveals critical vulnerabilities in this destructive pathogen, offering ...

CK1/Doubletime activity delays transcription activation in the circadian clock
In the Drosophila circadian clock, Period (PER) and Timeless (TIM) proteins inhibit Clock-mediated transcription of per and tim genes until PER is degraded by Doubletime/CK1 (DBT)-mediated phosphorylation, establishing a negative feedback loop. Multiple regulatory delays within this feedback loop ensure ~24 hr periodicity.

The protein kinase CK1 phosphorylates serine residues that are located close to another phosphoserine in the consensus pSer-Xaa-Xaa-Ser. This specificity generates regions in its target proteins containing two or more neighbouring phosphoserine residues,

ABSTRACT Sugar content is a key determinant of fruit quality, and sugars also act as signalling molecules that regulate ripening processes, including anthocyanin accumulation. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying sugar accumulation and sugar signal‐mediated ripening remain incompletely understood.

In a randomized clinical trial, we test the potential of combined nicotinamide (NAM) and pyridoxine (PN) to improve muscle recovery through muscle stem cell (MuSC) activity. Daily oral NAM and PN supplementation after high intensity muscle contractions enhances MuSC activation and differentiation, and accelerates muscle regeneration, providing new ...
