Engagement Patterns With an Artificial Intelligence Health Coach for Systemic Sclerosis Self‐Management: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate utility of an artificial intelligence (AI) health coach for systemic sclerosis (SSc) self‐management and identify patterns associated with participant engagement. Methods We conducted a mixed methods study in which an AI health coach, powered by a large language model (LLM), was used to support self‐management for SSc.

The role of complement in the immunopathogenesis of acetylcholine receptor antibody-positive generalized myasthenia gravis: bystander or key player?

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
The complement system is a key component of the innate immune system. In antiacetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibody-positive (Ab+) generalized myasthenia gravis (MG), complement activation has long been considered a principal driver of pathology ...

Observer‐Based Adaptive Event‐Triggered Tracking Control for Fuzzy TS Systems With Premise Mismatch

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper presents an adaptive logistic event‐triggered observer‐based tracking controller for Takagi‐Sugeno fuzzy systems under constrained inputs and network delays. Leveraging a hybrid LMI and Secretary Bird Optimization approach, this strategy significantly minimizes communication overhead and computational burden while ensuring optimal reference ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Thrombotic microangiopathy following systemic AAV administration is dependent on anti-capsid antibodies

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Investigation
BACKGROUND Systemic administration of adeno-associated virus (AAV) can trigger life-threatening inflammatory responses, including thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), acute kidney injury due to atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome–like complement activation ...

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Classical and alternative complement pathway activation in paracoccidioidomycosis.

open access: yesJournal of investigational allergology & clinical immunology, 1994
The following study presents evidence of complement activation in paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM). Twenty-eight untreated patients were studied from endemic areas of Parana in southern Brazil. The activation of the classical pathway, evaluated by the C4d/C4 ratio, was significantly elevated in the patients compared to the control population (p < 0.005 ...

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,
