Clot Promoting Activity and Activities of Clotting Factors in Lyophilized Serum

open access: yesThe Tohoku Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1973
The clot promoting activity and activities of clotting factors in lyophilized serum were the same with those in fresh serum. The clot promoting activity of lyophilized serum to control plasma and PTC deficient plasma was stable at room temperature for eight months at least.

Isolated biomolecules of pharmacological interest in hemostasis from Cerastes cerastes venom

open access: yesJournal of Venomous Animals and Toxins including Tropical Diseases, 2013
Biomolecules from Cerastes cerastes venom have been purified and characterized. Two phospholipases isolated from Cerastes cerastes venom share 51% of homology. CC2-PLA2 exhibits antiplatelet activity that blocks coagulation. CCSV-MPase, a non-hemorrhagic

Dependence of clot structure and fibrinolysis on apixaban and clotting activator

open access: yesResearch and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis
Anticoagulants prevent the formation of potentially fatal blood clots. Apixaban is a direct oral anticoagulant that inhibits factor (F)Xa, thereby impeding the conversion of prothrombin into thrombin and the formation of blood clots. Blood clots are held together by fibrin networks that must be broken down (fibrinolysis) to restore blood flow ...

Reconstruction of the historic time course of blood‐borne virus contamination of clotting factor concentrates, 1974–1992 [PDF]

open access: yes
Factor VIII and IX clotting factor concentrates manufactured from pooled plasma have been identified as potent sources of virus infection in persons with hemophilia (PWHs) in the 1970s and 1980s.

Tobacco BY2 cells expressing recombinant cardosin B as an alternative for production of active milk clotting enzymes

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Cynara cardunculus L. or cardoon is a plant that is used as a source of milk clotting enzymes during traditional cheese manufacturing. This clotting activity is due to aspartic proteases (APs) found in the cardoon flower, named cyprosins and cardosins ...
