Inhibiting Sublimation of Thymol by Cocrystallization

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2023
A thymol:4,4'-dipyridyl (2:1) cocrystal (Form I) is reported to suppress thymol sublimation. The cocrystal was prepared via solution-mediated phase transformation and its structure is sustained by O-H (phenol) ··· N (pyridyl) hydrogen bonds between two individual components.

Cocrystallization of melaminium levulinate monohydrate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2004
Crystals of 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-triazin-1-ium levulinate (4-oxopentanoate) monohydrate, C(3)H(7)N(6)(+).C(5)H(7)O(3)(-).H(2)O, are formed via self-assembled hydrogen bonding by cocrystallization of melamine and levulinic acid. Two N-H.N hydrogen bonds and four N-H.O hydrogen bonds connect two melaminium entities such that each of two pairs of N-H.O ...

Programmable Cocrystallization of DNA Origami Shapes

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2020
Assembly of distinct types of species, particularly possessing anisotropic configurations, is the premise to broaden structural diversity and explore materials' collective properties. However, it remains a great challenge to programmably cocrystallize manifold anisotropic nanoparticles with the desired assembly mode, because it requires not only the ...

Retrospection on Polymorphism and Cocrystallization of Anti-Retrovirals

Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry, 2013
Successful pharmaceutical development of a drug molecule depends not only on its potency and selectivity but also on its solid state. Thus the properties of active pharmaceutical ingrdient depend on the identity of its constituents as well as on their arrangement.

Cocrystallization of Proinsulin and Insulin

Nature, 1973
THE occurrence of small amounts of proinsulin in crystalline preparations of bovine, porcine, and rat insulin1–4 and the many similarities in properties of proinsulin and insulin prompted us to consider the possibility that proinsulin co-crystallizes with insulin.

Reduced deliquescency of isosorbide by cocrystallization and mechanisms for hygroscopicity

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2021
Isosorbide (ISO) is an effective hyperosmotic agent that can be administrated orally and is used as a therapeutic agent for brain pressure drop, glaucoma, and Meniere's disease. However, the critical relative humidity (CRH) of ISO is about 48% RH at 25 °C, and it deliquesces in humid environments. In this study, we attempted to reduce the deliquescence
