Four cocrystals of thymine with phenolic coformers: influence of the coformer on hydrogen bonding
Acta Crystallographica Section C, Structural Chemistry, 2015Cocrystals are molecular solids composed of at least two types of neutral chemical species held together by noncovalent forces. Crystallization of thymine [systematic name: 5-methylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione] with four phenolic coformers resulted in cocrystal formation, viz.catechol (benzene-1,2-diol) giving thymine–catechol (1/1), C5H6N2O2·C6H6O2, (I),

Co-crystals of 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) and the coformers urea, thiourea and pyrazinamide (PZA) were attempted for the first time through the supercritical antisolvent (SAS) and the cocrystallization with supercritical solvent (CSS) techniques.

A Coformer Approach for Supramolecular Polymerization at High Concentrations
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2023Abstract Insolubility of functional molecules caused by polymorphism sometimes poses limitations for their solution‐based processing. Such a situation can also occur in the preparation processes of supramolecular polymers formed in a solution.

How cocrystals of weakly basic drugs and acidic coformers might modulate solubility and stability
Cocrystals of a weakly basic drug (nevirapine) with acidic coformers are shown to alter the solubility dependence on pH, and to exhibit a pH(max) above which a less soluble cocrystal becomes more soluble than the drug.

Temozolomide Cocrystals with Carboxamide Coformers
Crystal Growth & Design, 2013Temozolomide (TMZ) is an antitumor prodrug of broad spectrum antineoplastic activity. TMZ is stable in acidic medium (pH 7). In continuation of our efforts to design stable cocrystals of TMZ with partners such as organic acids (pKa 2–5) and a salt dihydrate with hydrochloric acid, we report herein TMZ cocrystals with amide coformers, e.g ...

Exploring potential coformers for oxyresveratrol using principal component analysis
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2020Oxyresveratrol (OXY) exhibits poor bioavailability due to its low solubility. Cocrystals are effective in improving solubility of OXY. In this study, principal component analysis (PCA) was employed for coformer selection using 5 variables (solubility parameter, logP, hydrogen bonding acceptor, hydrogen bonding donor and molecular volume).
