Weed management in common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum)
Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1999There are currently no broadleaf herbicides registered in Canada for use in common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench.). Greenhouse and field studies were conducted from 1994 to 1997 at Morden and Brandon, Manitoba, to investigate potential herbicide treatments for buckwheat when cultural methods fail to control broadleaf weeds.

Common Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) Tolerance to Herbicides
Weed Science, 1986Field experiments conducted over a 7-yr period have demonstrated that common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentumMoench. cv. ‘Mancan’) has acceptable tolerance to many herbicides that are known to selectively control grass-type weeds in broadleaf crops. Herbicides for broadleaf weed control that showed some selectivity in common buckwheat were desmedipham ...

Morphological and Physiological Aspects of Evolution in Common Buckwheat
Russian Journal of Plant Physiology, 2001Comparative morphological and physiological studies of the ancestral forms (Fagopyrum homotropicumO. and F. esculentumssp. ancestraleO.) and the various morphogenotypes of common buckwheat (F. esculentumMoench.) were carried out in glasshouse experiments in a soil culture.

Protoplast Isolation, Culture, and Regeneration in Common and Tartary Buckwheat
Techniques based on the use of plant protoplasts are a convenient model for better understanding and observing developmental changes in the cells. The establishment of research tools based on protoplasts consists of many steps needed for optimization. Here, we describe the culture of morphogenic callus (MC)- and hypocotyl-derived protoplasts of common (Magdalena Zaranek +3 more
