Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.

Characterization of the Soluble Membrane Attack Complex (SMAC) of Carp (Cyprinus carpio) Complement
The membrane attack complex (MAC) of mammalian complement, which is composed of complement components,C5b, C6, C7, C8 and C9, shows cytolytic activity by distributing the structure of cytoplasmic mambrane. The soluble form of the membtane attack complex,

This study identifies the HDAC6/GATA4/HtrA1 axis as a critical driver of cellular senescence in the inner ear. GATA4 nuclear translocation, facilitated by HDAC6 downregulation, transcriptionally activates HtrA1, promoting hair cell senescence, SASP, and audio‐vestibular dysfunction in models of Ménière's disease and age‐related audio‐vestibular ...

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

The membrane attack complex of complement causes severe demyelination associated with acute axonal injury [PDF]
Complement is implicated in pathology in the human demyelinating disease multiple sclerosis and in animal models that mimic the demyelination seen in multiple sclerosis.

Membrane attack complex in biliary atresia: new insight for etiopathogenesis
Purpose Biliary atresia (BA) is the most common cause of neonatal cholestasis (NC); nevertheless, there is a lack of an established etiology. Understanding etiopathogenesis opens the way to adjuvant medical therapy.

Neuronal PKM2‐driven glycolysis generates excess lactate that triggers histone H3K18 lactylation (H3K18la), establishing a pathogenic metabolic‐epigenetic axis in epilepsy. Elevated H3K18la enriches the Cop1 promoter, transcriptionally upregulating the E3 ubiquitin ligase COP1, which subsequently drives proteasomal degradation of GABAARβ2 and impairs ...
