Abstract Staphylococcal protein A (SPA) is a B cell superantigen that binds to human VH3-encoded Igs independently of the D- and JH-encoded regions and light chain sequences. The SPA-binding structure formed by VH3-encoded Igs remains controversial.

Human papilloma virus has a clearly demonstrated role in cervical and head and neck cancers, but viral etiology for other solid tumors is less well understood. To expand this area of research, we obtained and analyzed the immune receptor recombinations available from both blood and tumor samples, through mining of exome files produced from those ...

Essentially all cold agglutinins (CA) with red blood cell I/i specificity isolated from patients with CA disease stemming from lymphoproliferative disorders utilize the VH 4-34 (VH 4-21) gene segment. This near universality of the restricted use of a single gene segment is substantially greater than that demonstrated for other autoantibodies.

Abstract Nickel is the most common inducer of contact sensitivity in humans. We previously found that overrepresentation of the TCRBV17 element in Ni-induced CD4+ T cell lines of Ni-allergic patients relates to the severity of the disease.

AbstractThe idiotypic protein expressed by B lymphoma cells is a clone‐specific tumor antigen which may be suitable for immune targeting by T cells. In this study, we cloned the immunoglobulin heavy chain variable gene (VH) of the idiotypic protein from a patient with B cell lymphoma and used a synthetic peptide of 22 amino acids corresponding to the ...

The proto-oncogene tyrosine kinase ROS1 plays a key role in carcinogenesis through gene rearrangement to form a fusion protein with other genes, in which the C-terminal intracellular region of ROS1 participates. The possibility of wild type ROS1 overexpression through epigenetic regulation has been proposed.

Idiotypic IgM expressed by B‐cell non‐Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) is clone specific and an ideal tumour antigen for immune targeting. We previously showed that repeated rounds of in vitro stimulation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) with autologous idiotypic heavy variable (VH) complementarity‐determining region (CDR)‐3 peptide produced T‐cell

To study the role of antigen-specific T lymphocytes in the pathogenesis of autoimmune hepatitis, messenger RNA of T-cell receptors (TCR) was analyzed in liver biopsy specimens from four patients with autoimmune hepatitis. Using the TCR β-chain variable region family specific oligonucleotides, a remarkable bias for the usage of

Introduction The immune repertoire must be diverse to recognize an array of potential antigens, while limiting specificities that react against self. B-lineage cells must survive selection in the bone marrow and then emigres compete for a niche in secondary lymphoid organs.
