Development and Psychometric Testing of the Breastfeeding Knowledge Scale (BKS) in Brazilian Healthcare Students [PDF]

open access: yesJ Eval Clin Pract
ABSTRACT Rationale Breastfeeding is recognized as a cornerstone of maternal and child health, yet health professionals frequently report insufficient knowledge to provide effective support. Strengthening the evaluation of educational outcomes in health professions training is therefore essential to improve clinical practice and patient care. This study

Promoting landscapes with a low zoonotic disease risk through forest restoration: The need for comprehensive guidelines

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 60, Issue 8, Page 1510-1521, August 2023., 2023
Our results contribute to a more comprehensive forest restoration planning, comprising multiple ecosystem services and resulting in healthier landscapes for both people and nature. Our framework could be integrated into the post‐2020 global biodiversity framework targets.

Taste for pollen comes in different shapes: Consumption by tadpoles from three divergent ecomorphotypes

open access: yesJournal of Zoology, Volume 320, Issue 1, Page 42-52, May 2023., 2023
We studied pollen consumption and breakage of pollen grains by tadpoles of three different ecomorphotypes likely to influence ease of access to different feeding microhabitats. We found tadpoles adapted to feed on the water surface (where pollen is first available to aquatic food webs) to eat more pollen and break relatively more grains, which is ...

Value of human‐modified forests for the conservation of canopy epiphytes

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 54, Issue 4, Page 958-968, July 2022., 2022
Although HMFs provide important refuge for many species, our results show that they do not provide suitable conditions for the maintenance of current or future canopy epiphyte communities. Our findings suggest that conserving large continuous old‐growth forests is the only viable conservation option for protecting most vascular epiphytes.

Riparian reserves protect butterfly communities in selectively logged tropical forest

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 59, Issue 6, Page 1524-1535, June 2022., 2022
Mandatory conservation set‐asides around streams or rivers (riparian buffers) have an important role in protecting the abundance and composition of primary forest butterfly assemblages within selective logging concessions in tropical rainforests. This study highlights the need to assess the conservation value of protecting unlogged riparian forest ...

Variation in biomass allocation and root functional parameters in response to fire history in Brazilian savannas

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 109, Issue 12, Page 4143-4157, December 2021., 2021
Fire stimulated the increase of absorptive root biomass in the upper soil layer in response to the higher demand for below‐ground resources, but did not promote modification of morphological root parameters. Differences in morphological root parameters reflected variation in soil properties, especially soil P, as well as differences in graminoid ...

LEPTIN, GHRELIN AND ADIPONECTIN IN LACTATING ADOLESCENT MOTHERS AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH BODY COMPOSITION OF THE MOTHER AND BABY

open access: yesDemetra, 2014
