Chemical changes in Prata-Anã banana stored under reduced O2 and increased CO2 levels
Banana has high respiratory rate, which reduces its storage time. This study evaluated the chemical characteristics of Prata-Anã banana stored under reduced O2 and increased CO2 levels, in order to slow down the ripening.

Chlorophyll stability in yerba maté leaves in controlled atmospheres
The objective of this research was to investigate the stability of chlorophyll in yerba maté leaves in controlled atmospheres of CO2/air mixtures and different water activities at 25°C.Two levels of water activity were selected corresponding to saturated

Control of the collapse distance in atmospheric propagation
We show experimentally for ultrashort laser pulses propagating in air, that the collapse/filamentation distance of intense laser pulses in the atmosphere can be extended and controlled with a simple double-lens setup. We derive a simple formula for the filamentation distance, and confirm its agreement with the experimental results. We also observe that

The ‘Jinyan’ kiwifruit is valued for its flavour and storability, but softens and decays rapidly after harvest. Controlled atmosphere (CA) storage offers an alternative to 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP), yet the CO2 tolerance of this cultivar was unknown ...

Gas Atmosphere Innovation Applied to Prolong the Shelf Life of ‘Regina’ Sweet Cherries
In this study, the impact of moderate and high CO2 and O2 levels was compared to low and moderate gas combinations during prolonged storage on the quality of Regina sweet cherries harvested in different maturity stages, particularly in terms of ...
