Integrating Local Lesion Assays with Conventional RT-PCR for Detection of Interspecies Tospovirus Reassortants and Mixed Tospovirus Infections [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2018
Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) has historically been the major tospovirus present in North America. Recent emergence of Groundnut ringspot virus (GRSV) and Tomato chlorotic spot virus (TCSV) in Florida and the Caribbean has complicated reliable identification of tospoviruses in this region.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Characterization of Infectious Bursal Disease Virus Isolated In Malaysia for the Development of Diagnostic Tools [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The P97/302 field outbreak isolate was identified as a very virulent infectious bursal disease virus (vvIBDV) of serotype 1, based on the conventional and molecular characterization methods.

Rapid and accurate diagnosis of Foot-and-mouth disease virus by Real-time PCR in field samples

open access: yesArchives of Razi Institute, 2012
During 2010-2011, Real-time PCR procedure was used to detecting FMDV RNA on 147 epithelium samples from the field. In this survey, for Real-time PCR from 3D gene segment as conserve region selected for tracking all of seven serotypes FMDV.

The onset of labor alters corticotropin-releasing hormone type 1 receptor variant expression in human myometrium : putative role of interleukin-1ß [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
CRH targets the human myometrium during pregnancy. The efficiency of CRH actions is determined by expression of functional receptors (CRH-R), which are dynamically regulated.

Diabetes‐induced vascular calcification is associated with low pyrophosphate and its oral supplementation prevents calcification in diabetic mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Induction of diabetes in three different mouse strains uniformly resulted in an increase in TNAP activity and a reduction in pyrophosphate (PPi) in the circulation. Inhibition of TNAP restored plasma PPi. Diabetes‐induced calcification in the media layer of the aorta was detected only in the Abcc6−/− strain, which is predisposed to ectopic ...

Molecular characterization and high prevalence of Tritrichomonas foetus in bulls from the North-West Province of South Africa using real - time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and conventional PCR diagnostics [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World
Background and Aim: Bovine trichomonosis, caused by Tritrichomonas foetus, is a significant reproductive disease that impacts cattle productivity and breeding efficiency. In South Africa, routine diagnostic methods often depend on culture and microscopy,
