Dichloro-p-coumaric Acid and Coumaric Acid: their Effect on the Geotropism of Roots

Nature, 1970
WE present here the first clear evidence that the positive geotropic response of roots can be prevented by dichloro-p-coumaric acid and p-coumaric acid.

Solvation of p-Coumaric Acid in Water

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2007
The photoactive yellow protein (PYP) is an important model protein for many (photoactive) signaling proteins. Key steps in the PYP photocycle are the isomerization and protonation of its chromophore, p-coumaric acid (pCA). In the ground state of the protein, this chromophore is in the trans configuration with its phenolic oxygen deprotonated.

p -Coumaric acid esters from Tanacetum longifolium

Phytochemistry, 2003
Two new long chain alkyl p-coumaric acid esters (2-3) along with eicosanyl trans-p-coumarate (1) were isolated from chloroform extract of the roots of Tanacetum longifolium. The structures of new compounds were assigned as 21'-hydroxyheneicosanyl-4-hydroxy-(cis and trans) p-coumarate (2a, 2b) and 27'-hydroxy heptacosanyl-cis-p-coumarate (3) by ...

Electroanalytical Oxidation ofp‐Coumaric Acid

Analytical Letters, 2007
The mechanism of the electrochemical oxidation of p-coumaric acid on a glassy carbon electrode was investigated using cyclic, differential pulse and square wave voltammetry at different pHs. The oxidation of p-coumaric acid is irreversible over the whole pH range.

Tyrosinase inhibitory p‐Coumaric acid from Ginseng leaves

Phytotherapy Research, 1999
By bioassay-guided fractionation using mushroom tyrosinase, p-coumaric acid was characterized as the principal tyrosinase inhibitor from the fresh leaves of Panax ginseng (Araliaceae). It inhibited the oxidation of L-tyrosine more strongly than that of L-3, 4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA) by this enzyme.
