Dampening of proteomics activity associated with the COVID-19 patients afflicted with asthma based on gene expression pattern

open access: yesЖурнал микробиологии, эпидемиологии и иммунобиологии
Introduction. It is established that the severity of SARS-CoV-2 infections varies between individuals without underlying health conditions and those with chronic illnesses like asthma.

Natural Products Inspired Scaffold Diversification Leads to Unnatural Molecular Warhead and Covalent Strategy to Modulating Protein Function through Electrophilic Bromine Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a new thiolate‐reactive α,α‐gem‐dibromo lactam warhead that activates transcription factor Nrf2 and demonstrates anti‐inflammatory activities, which have implications in cancer, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular diseases. RNA‐seq illuminated detailed transcriptional profiles, and chemical reactions with cysteine‐containing compounds ...

Inhibition of the CXCL9-CXCR3 axis suppresses the progression of experimental apical periodontitis by blocking macrophage migration and activation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Apical periodontitis (AP) is an acute or chronic inflammatory disease caused by complex interactions between infected root canal and host immune system.

Urinary CXCL9 and CXCL10 Levels Correlate with the Extent of Subclinical Tubulitis [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Transplantation, 2009
Subclinical tubulitis has been associated with the later development of interstitial fibrosis and tubular atrophy (IF/TA), leading to diminished allograft survival. The aim of this study was to investigate how concentrations of urinary CXC-receptor 3 (CXCR3) chemokines (i.e. CXCL4/9/10/11) and CCL2 relate to the extent of subclinical tubulitis.

Pharmacologic Modulation of ARID3A with Rimegepant Reactivates Type I Interferon Signaling and Sensitizes Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer to PD‐1 Blockade

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ARID3A as a key immunosuppressive transcription factor in TNBC. Its inhibition activates the type I IFN pathway, boosting CD8+ T cell infiltration and sensitizing tumors to anti‐PD‐1. The FDA‐approved migraine drug Rimegepant targets ARID3A, enhances immunotherapy efficacy in preclinical models, and establishes a druggable axis to

Myocardial chemokine expression and intensity of myocarditis in Chagas cardiomyopathy are controlled by polymorphisms in CXCL9 and CXCL10.

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, 2012
BackgroundChronic Chagas cardiomyopathy (CCC), a life-threatening inflammatory dilated cardiomyopathy, affects 30% of the approximately 8 million patients infected by Trypanosoma cruzi.

SpeB-hydrolyzed CXCL9 does not signal through CXCR3.

open access: yes, 2013
Panel A: CXCL9 was incubated with SpeB / DTT or DTT and terminated by addition of the cysteine proteinase inhibitor E-64. Samples were separate on 16.5% SDS-PAGE and compared with intact CXCL9.

Enhancing CAR‐T Cell Efficacy in Solid Tumors by Inhibiting CCL5/VEGF‐Mediated Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that CAR‐T cells in solid tumors produce CCL5, which paradoxically induces VEGF and angiogenesis to promote tumor growth. Blocking CCL5/VEGF signaling—through gene knockout, or the CCR5 inhibitor maraviroc—significantly enhances the antitumor efficacy of CAR‑T therapy (the diagram was created in Biorender).

Quantifying spatial CXCL9 distribution with image analysis predicts improved prognosis of triple-negative breast cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics
Background: The C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 9 (CXCL9) plays a pivotal role in tumor immunity by recruiting and activating immune cells. However, the relationship between CXCL9 expression and prognosis in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is unclear ...
