Cryo-EM structure of SKP1-SKP2-CKS1 in complex with CDK2-cyclin A-p27KIP1
p27KIP1 (cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B, p27) is a member of the CIP/KIP family of CDK (cyclin dependent kinase) regulators that inhibit cell cycle CDKs.

Quantification of noise in the bifunctionality-induced post-translational modification [PDF]
We present a generic analytical scheme for the quantification of fluctuations due to bifunctionality-induced signal transduction within the members of bacterial two-component system. The proposed model takes into account post-translational modifications in terms of elementary phosphotransfer kinetics. Sources of fluctuations due to autophosphorylation,

Cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (CDK9) activity is correlated with worse outcomes of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients. The heterodimer between CDK9 with cyclin T1 is essential for maintaining the active state of the kinase and targeting this ...

Regulation of signal duration and the statistical dynamics of kinase activation by scaffold proteins [PDF]
Scaffolding proteins that direct the assembly of multiple kinases into a spatially localized signaling complex are often essential for the maintenance of an appropriate biological response. Although scaffolds are widely believed to have dramatic effects on the dynamics of signal propagation, the mechanisms that underlie these consequences are not well ...

Biological functions of CDK5 and potential CDK5 targeted clinical treatments. [PDF]
Cyclin dependent kinases are proline-directed serine/threonine protein kinases that are traditionally activated upon association with a regulatory subunit.

AZ703, an Imidazo[1,2-a]Pyridine Inhibitor of Cyclin-Dependent Kinases 1 and 2, Induces E2F-1-Dependent Apoptosis Enhanced by Depletion of Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 9 [PDF]
Abstract Preclinical studies were performed of a novel selective imidazopyridine cyclin-dependent kinase (cdk) inhibitor, AZ703. In vitro kinase assays showed that IC50 values for AZ703 against purified cyclin E/cdk2 and cyclin B/cdk1 were 34 and 29 nmol/L, respectively. In contrast, the IC50 against cdk4 was >10 μmol/L.

Arecoline inhibits the growth of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes via AMP-activated protein kinase and reactive oxygen species pathways. [PDF]
The present study was designed to investigate the pathways involved in the effect of betel nut arecoline on cell viability in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. Arecoline, but not arecaidine or guvacine, inhibited preadipocyte viability in a concentration- and time ...
