Isomeric triazines exhibit unique profiles of bioorthogonal reactivity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Expanding the scope of bioorthogonal reactivity requires access to new and mutually compatible reagents. We report here that 1,2,4-triazines can be tuned to exhibit unique reaction profiles with biocompatible strained alkenes and alkynes.

Allenylidenphosphonium‐Ion: Ein Isoelektronisches Phosphor‐Analogon Von [3]Kumulen

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Harnessing Molecular Recognition for Small‐Molecule‐Mediated Reversible Photochemical Control Over mRNA Translation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A small molecule ligand undergoes traceless, reversible photocrosslinking to PreQ1 RNA aptamer in a selective manner, dependent on both the RNA sequence/structure and ligand chemical structure. A caged mRNA construct incorporating the PreQ1 aptamer and an eGFP or p53 coding sequence remained translationally repressed until exposure to 302 nm light ...

Low‐Symmetry Face‐Capped Fe(II) Tetrahedra Through Anisotropic Ligand Extension

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A strategy for the formation of low‐symmetry face‐capped Fe(II) tetrahedra using anisotropic ligand extension is reported. The degree of distortion in the resulting tetrahedra correlates to the stability of the assemblies and the oxidation potentials of their metal ions. Abstract Low‐symmetry cages are attractive metallo‐supramolecular targets, as they
