The intermolecular [2 + 2]-photocycloaddition of the parent flavone molecule (4) as the triplet energy-accepting species and the electron-rich alkene 2, 3-dihydrofuran (5) was performed by visible-light-mediated triplet-sensitization with an iridium ...

Reenvisioning the De Mayo Reaction: A Boron‐Enabled Cycloaddition Approach
An oxa‐boracycle conformational lock strategy enables photocatalytic [2+2] cycloaddition to afford densely substituted cyclobutylboronates. The conformational constraint suppresses triplet relaxation and promotes productive bimolecular reactivity.

Functionalized Cyclobutanes via Heck Cyclization
Heck-type 4-exo-trig cyclization of linear 2-enol triflate-1,5-hexadienes provides functionalized methylene cyclobutanes. Intramolecular palladium coordination can initiate β-hydride elimination leading to 1,2-dimethylene cyclobutane derivatives, which ...

The Formal [4+3] Cycloaddition between Donor−Acceptor Cyclobutanes and Nitrones
The formal [4+3] cycloaddition of 2-alkoxy-1,1-dicarboxylate activated donor−acceptor cyclobutanes with nitrones is disclosed. The reaction forms structurally unique oxazepines in moderate to high yield with a wide scope of nitrones. In most cases either

Photocycloaddition in stilbene‐type salt polymorphs exhibit distinct light‐driven responses: OHT‐TI shows a violent photosalient effect under visible and NIR (two‐photon) irradiation, whereas OHT‐TII reacts statically. Packing and computational analysis reveals that shell‐like structures in OHT‐TI frustrate structural relaxation, accumulating explosive

The ditopic halogen-bond (X-bond) donors 1,2-, 1,3-, and 1,4-diiodotetrafluorobenzene (1,2-, 1,3-, and 1,4-di-I-tFb, respectively) form binary cocrystals with the unsymmetrical ditopic X-bond acceptor trans-1-(2-pyridyl)-2-(4-pyridyl)ethylene (2,4-bpe ...

Enantiomerically enriched cyclobutanes are constructed by a three-component process in which t-butyl (E)-2-diazo-5-arylpent-4-enoates are treated with Rh2(S-NTTL)4 to provide enantiomerically enriched bicyclobutanes, which can subsequently engage in ...
