Cyclosarin nerve agent interaction with the pristine, Stone Wales defected, and Si-doped BN nanosheets: Theoretical study

Physica E: Low-Dimensional Systems and Nanostructures, 2017
Abstract Never agent identification and disposal is vital for both civilian and military defense resources. Herein, using density functional theory calculations, the reactivity and electronic sensitivity of pristine, Stone Wales (SW) defected, and Si-doped BN (Si-BN) nanosheets toward cyclosarin nerve agent were investigated.

Metabolic Characterization of Sarin, Cyclosarin, and Novichoks (A-230, A-232) in Human Liver Microsomes

Chemical Research in Toxicology
We have assessed the human liver microsomal (HLM) metabolism of the chemical warfare nerve agents' sarin (GB), cyclosarin (GF), and the Novichok agents A-230 and A-232. In HLM, GB showed drastically decreased stability (t1/2 = 1.4 h). The addition of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), which inhibits paraoxonase-1 (PON1), reduced the metabolism of ...

Generation, Sampling, and Analysis for Low-Level GB (Sarin) and GF (Cyclosarin) Vapor for Inhalation Toxicology Studies

Inhalation Toxicology, 2006
This study tested and optimized various methodologies to generate, sample, and characterize GB and GF test atmospheres in an inhalation chamber, particularly at low vapor levels. A syringe drive/spray atomization system produced vapor concentrations at a range of 1-50 mg/m3.

Simultaneous detection of CMPA and PMPA, hydrolytes of soman and cyclosarin nerve agents, by nanopore analysis

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2013
Abstract A sensitive nanopore-based analytical method was developed for the detection of cyclohexyl methylphosphonic acid (CMPA) and pinacolyl methylphosphonate (PMPA), hydrolytes of nerve agents soman and cyclosarin, respectively. The method uses a multi-functionalized α-hemolysin protein ion channel as the sensing element, with a host molecule β ...

Elimination kinetics and molecular reaction mechanisms of cyclosarin (GF) by an oxime substituted β-cyclodextrin derivative in vitro

Toxicology Letters, 2015
Detoxification mechanisms of the chemical warfare agent cyclosarin (GF) in presence of 6-OxP-CD were investigated in detail in in vitro model systems. Most important finding was the preference of 6-Ox-P-CD to eliminate the more toxic (-)-GF.

New methods in synthesis of acetylcholinesterase reactivators and evaluation of their potency to reactivate cyclosarin-inhibited AChE

Chemical Papers, 2006
AbstractNine potential AChE reactivators were synthesized using modification of currently known synthetic pathways. Their potency to reactivate AChE inhibited by cyclosarin nerve agent was tested in vitro. According to the previous results, 1,4-bis(2-hydroxyiminomethylpyridinium)butane dibromide seems to be the most potent AChE reactivator.
