First-pass metabolism of cyclosporin by the gut [PDF]
Cyclosporin is thought to be exclusively metabolised in the liver. We instilled cyclosporin into the small bowel of 2 patients during the anhepatic phase of liver transplantation; cyclosporin metabolites were readily detected in portal venous blood.

Effect of Terbinafine on the Pharmacokinetics of Cyclosporin in Humans
Cyclosporin is largely metabolized by hepatic cytochrome P450 enzymes, and azole drugs that inhibit cytochrome P450 may precipitate cyclosporin toxicity. The allylamine terbinafine binds to a small subfraction of hepatic cytochrome P450 in type I fashion,

Reversible denaturation of cyclosporin synthetase by urea
The reversible denaturation of the multifunctional polypeptide, cyclosporin synthetase, by urea was analyzed. It is possible to discriminate between at least two stages of enzyme denaturation.

ABSTRACT Aim The role of systemic therapy in paediatric Stevens–Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) remains undefined. Management is primarily guided by observational data and variable practice patterns. This systematic review aims to integrate recent evidence and evaluate clinical outcomes associated with systemic therapies in ...

Role of the cyclosporin-sensitive transcription factor NFAT1 in the allergic response
Proteins belonging to the NFAT (nuclear factor of activated T cells) family of transcription factors are expressed in most immune cell types, and play a central role in the transcription of cytokine genes, such as IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, IFN-gamma, TNF ...
