Activation-induced cytidine deaminase and active cytidine demethylation
Trends in Biochemical Sciences, 2015The regulation of demethylation in vertebrates has begun to be elucidated in the past decade. However, a possible involvement of activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID) in this process remains uncertain. We survey the data supporting or casting doubt on such a role, and propose that there is no strong evidence for an involvement of AID in genome ...

Diazepinone Nucleosides as Inhibitors of Cytidine Deaminase.
Nucleosides and Nucleotides, 1996Abstract The synthesis of 2′-deoxy and 2′,3′-dideoxy derivatives of 1-s-D-ribofuranosyl-1,3,4,7-tetrahydro-2H-1,3-diazepin-2-one (2) was undertaken in order to find new cytidine deaminase (CDA) inhibitors and potential adjuvants in anticancer chemotherapy.

Crystal structure of Arabidopsis thaliana cytidine deaminase
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2020Cytidine deaminase (CDA) catalyzes the (deoxy)cytidine deamination to (deoxy)uridine, which involves in the catabolic and salvage pathways of pyrimidine nucleotides in plants. CDA serves as a prototype of the cytidine deaminase superfamily that contains a number of RNA editing enzymes. Arabidopsis thaliana has only one functional CDA, AtCDA1. We solved

Activity of serum cytidine deaminase during pregnancy
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1982Summary. A simple and reliable method for the estimation of cytidine deaminase (cytidine aminohydrolase; EC 3.5.4.5) activity in pregnancy serum is described. This enzyme does not require magnesium for activation and is also more stable than deoxycytidylate deaminase (dCMP deaminase, dCMP aminohydrolase; EC 3.5.4.12).

Multifaceted antiviral actions of APOBEC3 cytidine deaminases
Trends in Immunology, 2006To defend against external pathogens, metazoan organisms have evolved numerous defenses that generally fall within the innate and adaptive immune responses. Considerable effort continues to focus on developing a vaccine to manipulate the adaptive immune system to protect against or control HIV-1.

Studies on Thermal Stability of Human Cytidine Deaminase
Nucleosides, Nucleotides & Nucleic Acids, 2007The thermal stability of human cytidine deaminase (CDA), an enzyme involved in pyrimidine metabolism was investigated. With this in view, the residues R68 and Y60, supposed to be involved in the intersubunit interactions and in the catalytic site of CDA, were mutated to glutamine and glycine, respectively.

Recombinant Human Cytidine Deaminase: Expression, Purification, and Characterization
Protein Expression and Purification, 1996The complementary DNA (cDNA) coding for human cytidine deaminase (CDA) was obtained using two specific primers to screen RNA from peripheral blood polymorphonuclear leukocytes by reverse transcriptase PCR. The cDNA fragment was ligated into the expression vector pTrc99-A and expressed in Escherichia coli following induction with isopropyl-1-thio-beta-D-

Gender, Cytidine Deaminase, and 5-Aza/Decitabine—Letter
Clinical Cancer Research, 2013We have read with interest the observational study by Mahfouz and colleagues ([1][1]), who examined the role of cytidine deaminase (CDA) on outcomes of patients treated with 5-azacytidine or decitabine.

Cytidine deaminase activity inPenicillium politans NRC-510
Journal of Basic Microbiology, 2005Cell-free extracts of nitrate-grown Penicillium politans NRC-510 catalyzes the hydrolytic deamination of cytidine to uridine. Uridine was chromatographically identified in cell-free extracts. The enzyme exhibited optimum pH and temperature activities at 6.5 and 80 degrees C respectively.
