PCR BASED GENETIC DIVERSITY IN KAJLI SHEEP BREED IN PUNJAB, PAKISTAN USING MITOCHONDRIAL DNA CYTOCHROME-B

open access: yesFUUAST Journal of Biology, 2019
Main focus is to study the three districts of Punjab as well as the nearby areas where Kajli breed exists. DNA quality and quantity was tested by 1% agarose gel. DNA and amino acid content was also analyzed from the blood samples.

Molecular phylogeny of Triatomini (Hemiptera: Reduviidae: Triatominae)

open access: yesParasites & Vectors, 2014
Background The Triatomini and Rhodniini (Hemiptera: Reduviidae) tribes include the most diverse Chagas disease vectors; however, the phylogenetic relationships within the tribes remain obscure.

Mechanistic Understanding of Protein–MOF Integration Through Surfactant‐Driven Interfacial Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals how surfactant‐driven interfacial design governs the assembly and stability of protein@MOF composites. Using lipid‐based nonionic surfactants, we modulate protein–MOF interactions to improve encapsulation efficiency, MOF crystallization, and catalytic performance.

PRMT9 Aggravated Dopaminergic Neurodegeneration in Parkinson's Disease Model by Facilitating the Degradation of DUSP26 and Inducing Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the pathological state of PD induced by MPP+, the upregulated PRMT9 in dopaminergic neurons translocates into mitochondrion and interacts with DUSP26 and catalyzes its arginine methylation, leading to the ubiquitin‐proteasomal degradation of DUSP26 mediated by Trim32.

The Effects of Aflatoxin B1 on Liver Cholestasis and Its Nutritional Regulation in Ducks

open access: yesToxins
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) on cholestasis in duck liver and its nutritional regulation. Three hundred sixty 1-day-old ducks were randomly divided into six groups and fed for 4 weeks.

Intrinsically Mitochondria‐Targeting Nanozyme via Coordination‐Assembly of Natural Quercetin for Cascade Antioxidant Therapy of Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers that quercetin naturally targets mitochondria. By coordinating quercetin with Fe3+, we engineer an ultrasmall cascade nanozyme (MCN) with superoxide dismutase‐catalase activities. MCN crosses the damaged blood–brain barrier, scavenges mitochondrial ROS, prevents mitochondrial DNA leakage, and blocks the cGAS‐STING pathway, thereby ...

Targeting DNGR‐1 with Fangchinoline Elevates Dendritic Cell Antigen Cross‐Presentation‐Mediated Antitumor Immunity in Melanoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fangchinoline is identified as a small‐molecule DNGR‐1 modulator that enhances dendritic‐cell cross‐presentation of tumor antigens. By engaging DNGR‐1 and activating Syk–Nox2 signaling, it promotes phagosomal ROS, antigen escape, MHC‐I presentation, and CD8+ T‐cell priming, thereby strengthening antitumor immunity and sensitizing tumors to PD‐1 ...

Pemt Inhibition‐Mediated Vdac1 Oligomerization Regulates Mitochondrial Dysfunction, Apoptosis, and Inflammation in High‐Fat Diet‐Derived Liver Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT High‐fat diet (HFD)‐induced hepatic injury represents a pathology observed across vertebrates, yet the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Herein, the present study identifies phosphatidylethanolamine methyltransferase (Pemt), a key enzyme in phosphatidylcholine synthesis, as a critical regulator of mitochondrial homeostasis ...
