Sequences of cytochrome b gene for primitive cyprinid fishes in East Asia and their phylogenetic concerning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
1140 bp of cytochrome b gene were amplified and sequenced from 14 species of primitive cyprinid fishes in East Asia. Aligned with other ten cytochrome b gene sequences of cyprinid fish from Europe and North America retrieved from Gene bank, we obtained a

Stretchable and Strain‐Tolerant Gold‐Coated Fibrous Biosensor for Superoxide Anion Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A breathable, stretchable gold nanomesh–TPU fiber platform is developed via controlled electroless deposition, enabling uniform through‐thickness conductivity while preserving porosity. Functionalized with superoxide dismutase, the system achieves selective, real‐time electrochemical detection of superoxide with high sensitivity, mechanical durability,

A novel mutation in the Surf1 gene in a child with leigh disease, peripheral neuropathy, and cytochrome-c oxidase deficiency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We report a 16-month-old boy with psychomotor regression, muscle hypotonia, peripheral neuropathy, and lactic acidosis. Brain magnetic resonance imaging showed a bilateral abnormal signal in the substantia nigra and in the subthalamic nucleus, suggestive

Comparison of caspase-8, granzyme B and cytochrome C apoptosis biomarker levels in orthopedic trauma patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
BACKGROUND: The primary objective of this study was to investigate whether or not apoptosis is induced following bone fracture, and if so, to investigate whether the extrinsic or intrinsic pathway of cell death is stimulated.

GPR124 Alleviates Blood–Brain Barrier Disruption by Enhancing Microvascular Endothelial Function after Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study reveals the protective role of GPR124 in maintaining BBB integrity and promoting neurological recovery following TBI. It makes a significant contribution by uncovering a novel molecular interaction between GPR124 and FGFBP1 and linking this to activation of the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway in vascular repair mechanisms.

Zinc Exposure Causes Disulfidptosis to Induce Miscarriage by Up‐Regulating GATA1/METTL1/SLC7A11 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zn exposure up‐regulates GATA1, promoting GATA1‐mediated METTL1 and SLC7A11 transcription. It also enhances METTL1‐mediated m7G modification on SLC7A11 mRNA, increasing SLC7A11 mRNA stability. Ultimately, Zn exposure up‐regulates SLC7A11 at both transcriptional and post‐transcriptional levels, causing disulfidptosis. Knockdown of murine Slc7a11, Gata1,

EPR and solid-state NMR studies on the mechanism of cytochrome bo3 ubiquinol oxidase from escherichia coli [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Cytochrome bo3 ubiquinol oxidase from E. coli is a member of heme-copper oxidase superfamily. This trans-membrane enzyme complex catalyzes two-electron oxidation of ubiquinol and reduction of molecular oxygen to water.

Heme‐NO Dilates Arteries via Mobilization of NO Moieties From an Intracellular NO Store Within Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nitrosyl heme emerges as an extracellular nitrodilator that dilates arteries without crossing the cell membrane. Instead, heme‐NO mobilizes NO moieties from a preformed intracellular NO store within vascular smooth muscle, providing both functional and chemical evidence for the NANOS model, revealing a previously unrecognized mechanism of arterial ...
