Human Cytokine-Induced Memory-Like Natural Killer Cells [PDF]
Natural killer (NK) cells are innate lymphoid cells that are important for host defense against infection and mediate antitumor responses. Recent reports from several laboratories have identified that NK cells can remember a prior activation event and consequently respond more robustly when restimulated, a property termed innate NK cell memory. NK cell

CD3+/CD56+ Natural killer (NK) cell-like T-cells (NKT-like cells) represent <5% of blood lymphocytes, display a cytotoxic phenotype, and can kill various cancers. NKT-like cells can be expanded ex vivo into cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells, however

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Researche Advances on CIK Cells and Their Clinical Use in Lung Cancer
As the leading cause of cancer-related death among human beings, lung cancer seriously threats peoples’ health all over the world. Cytokine-induced killer cells (CIK) is a new kind of adaptive immune cells characterized by its dramatic proliferation ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Cytokine-Induced Killer Cells Eradicate Bone and Soft-Tissue Sarcomas [PDF]
AbstractUnresectable metastatic bone sarcoma and soft-tissue sarcomas (STS) are incurable due to the inability to eradicate chemoresistant cancer stem–like cells (sCSC) that are likely responsible for relapses and drug resistance. In this study, we investigated the preclinical activity of patient-derived cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells against ...
