Myocardial cytoprotectors demonstrate anti-apoptotic effect on vascular endotheliocytes
Aim. To evaluate the effects of myocardial cytoprotectors on the levels of apoptotic endotheliocytes and membranederived microparticles of endothelial origin in peripheral blood of the patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD). Material and methods. The

Changes in Metabolic Regulation and the Microbiota Composition after Supplementation with Different Fatty Acids in db/db Mice. [PDF]
Introduction. The effects of fatty acids on health vary and depend on the type, amount, and route of consumption. EPA and DHA have a defined role in health, unlike coconut oil. Objective. The aim was to investigate the changes in metabolic regulation and the composition of the culture‐dependent microbiota after supplementation with different fatty ...

Melatonin Ameliorates Cyclophosphamide‐Induced Spermatogenesis Disorder by Reducing Pyroptosis
As a chemotherapeutic drug, cyclophosphamide (CP) has a negative impact on male fertility due to its reproductive toxicity. Melatonin (Mel) promotes the male reproductive system and increases testosterone synthesis. This study is aimed at exploring the molecular mechanism of Mel as a protector of male fertility against CP‐induced cytotoxicity.

Whey protein was enzymatically hydrolyzed using an ultrahigh‐pressure synergistic enzymolysis method. The identified amino acid sequences were then synthesized, and their antioxidants and DPP‐IV inhibitory activities were determined. Whey protease hydrolysates could potentially be expected to be successfully commercially developed as functional ...

Autophagy in the retinal pigment epithelium: a new vision and future challenges
RPE cells have different systems (mitophagy, ER‐phagy, xenophagy, lipophagy, ribophagy, pexophagy, aggrephagy, and LAP) for breaking down and recycling damaged materials, allowing them to reduce ‘waste’ and reuse the ‘raw material’. Autophagosomes and phagosomes work as recycler and they take care of the cellular waste transport to the ‘incinerator ...

Gasdermins mediate cellular release of mitochondrial DNA during pyroptosis and apoptosis
Abstract Pyroptosis and intrinsic apoptosis are two forms of regulated cell death driven by active caspases where plasma membrane permeabilization is induced by gasdermin pores. Caspase‐1 induces gasdermin D pore formation during pyroptosis, whereas caspase‐3 promotes gasdermin E pore formation during apoptosis.
