Nexus of Whey Proteins, Gut Dysbiosis, and Colonic Health
Whey proteins possess antimicrobial and prebiotic properties that modulate gut microbiota by promoting beneficial bacteria like Bifidobacterium while suppressing pathogens. This modulation enhances short‐chain fatty acid production and strengthens intestinal barrier integrity, potentially alleviating dysbiosis‐related conditions such as colitis and ...

Absorption and biosynthesis of D‐chiro‐inositol in mice
D‐chiro‐inositol (DCI) is known to possess insulin‐like properties. Mice were fed with either regular chow (control group) or DCI‐free diet over a five‐week period. The levels of DCI declined significantly in plasma (1.91 ± 0.17 to 0.056 ± 0.0 μM), stool (20.2 ± 6 to 0.147 ± 0.05 nmoles) and urine (27.39 ± 8.2 ...

D-chiro-Inositol and Pinitol Extend the Life Span of Drosophila melanogaster [PDF]
D-chiro-inositol, a member of the inositol family, and pinitol, a 3-methoxy analogue of D-chiro-inositol, have been proposed to have antidiabetic, antiinflammatory, anticancer and stamina enhancing effects. We found that supplementing the diet of Drosophila with D-chiro-inositol and pinitol extended adult longevity in both male and female flies.

D-Pinitol Improved Glucose Metabolism and Inhibited Bone Loss in Mice with Diabetic Osteoporosis
Diabetic osteoporosis (DO) has been increasingly recognized as an important complication of diabetes. D-pinitol, a natural compound found in various legumes, is known for its anti-diabetic function, but its effect on DO has not been investigated.

Evaluation of the treatment with D-chiroinositol on levels of oxidative stress in pcos patients
Recent studies on the pathophysiology of infertility have shown that oxidative stress (OS) can be one of the causal factors. The OS is, by definition, an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species and antioxidant defense systems.

Supplements targeting adipose tissue inflammation may reduce obesity‐related cardiometabolic diseases. We tested whether Myo‐Inositol (MYO), a carbocyclic sugar with insulin‐sensitizing effects, reduces adipose tissue inflammation using an in vitro model of human adipocytes stimulated with TNF‐α.
