Hepatotoxicological Evaluation of Dantrolene Sodium [PDF]

open access: greenDrug and Chemical Toxicology, 1984
The clinical use of dantrolene has been associated with hepatotoxicity, thus the toxicity of dantrolene in Swiss-Webster mice was characterized. Animals were treated orally (po) with single or multiple doses of up to 400 mg/kg of D without any increases in SGPT or alterations in hepato-cellular architecture.

Structure of Dantrolene

open access: bronzeAnalytical Sciences: X-ray Structure Analysis Online, 2004
The title compound, C14H10N4O5·CH4O, is a direct-acting skeletal relaxant. The crystal, obtained as a methanol solvate, belongs to space group P1 with the cell dimensions a=7.92(3), b=9.93(4) and c=10.57(3)A, α=87.7(2), β=85.2(2) and γ=72.2(2)°. The final R value is 0.066. The molecule takes a planar and fully extended structure.

Impairment of Glucose Uptake Induced by Elevated Intracellular Ca2+ in Hippocampal Neurons of Malignant Hyperthermia-Susceptible Mice [PDF]

open access: yesCells
Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is a genetic disorder triggered by depolarizing muscle relaxants or halogenated inhalational anesthetics in genetically predisposed individuals who have a chronic elevated intracellular Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i) in their ...

Loose-patch clamp analysis applied to voltage-gated ionic currents following pharmacological ryanodine receptor modulation in murine hippocampal cornu ammonis-1 pyramidal neurons [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
IntroductionThe loose-patch clamp technique was first developed and used in native amphibian skeletal muscle (SkM), offering useful features complementing conventional sharp micro-electrode, gap, or conventional patch voltage clamping.

Pharmacokinetics of Dantrolene in the Plasma Exchange Treatment of Malignant Hyperthermia in a 14-Year-Old Chinese Boy: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2022
Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is a rare life-threatening response that is triggered by exposure to specific anesthetics commonly used during surgical interventions. Dantrolene is a well-known drug used as the first-line therapy for MH.
