Δ-Keto-acid/hydroxy-lactone isomerization in some lichen depsides, depsidones and diphenyl ethers.

open access: yesOrganic and biomolecular chemistry
In some compounds in lichens, the carboxylic acid is ortho-substituted by an 2-oxoalkyl chain. This particular structure induces the existence of δ-keto-acid ka or hydroxy-lactone hl isomers, clearly identified by their NMR data and chemical properties ...

Herbicidal and Plant-growth Stimulating Effects of Phenolic Compounds Isolated from Lichens

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2015
The depsides atranorin (7) and diffractaic acid (1), the depsidones hypostictic (2) protocetraric (3), salazinic (4) acids, the xanthone secalonic acid (5), and usnic acid (6) were evaluated for their phytotoxic potentials against the target species ...

Lichen Polyphenolic Compounds for the Eradication of Candida albicans Biofilms

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2021
Lichens, due to their symbiotic nature (association between fungi and algae), constitute a chemical factory of original compounds. Polyphenolic compounds (depsides and depsidones) are the main constituents of lichens and are exclusively biosynthesized by

A Novel b-Orcinol Depsidone of Lichen Lobaria pulmonaria [PDF]

open access: yesAsian Journal of Chemistry, 2014
In continuation of our phytochemical survey of Lobaria pulmonaria has led to the identification of deoxystictic acid in this foliose lichen species for the first time. The isolated β-orcinol depsidone showed moderate anti-hydroxyl radical activity using fluorescence spectroscopy at in vitro conditions.

New depsidones and isoindolinones from the mangrove endophytic fungus Meyerozyma guilliermondii (HZ-Y2) isolated from the South China Sea

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
Three new depsidones, botryorhodines E–G (1–3), and two new isoindolinones, meyeroguillines A and B (7 and 9), along with five known compounds were isolated from an endophytic fungus Meyerozyma guilliermondii, derived from the mangrove plant Kandelia ...

Naphthalenones and Depsidones from a Sponge-Derived Strain of the Fungus Corynespora cassiicola

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
Two new naphthalenones, corynenones A and B (1 and 2), and one new depsidone, corynesidone E (3), together with one known depsidone, corynesidone A (4) and two known diphenyl ethers, corynethers A (5) and B (6), were isolated from the sponge-derived ...

Westersidones A–C: Antimicrobial Depsidones From the Deep‐Sea Cold Seep‐Derived Endozoic Fungus Westerdykella dispersa CS‐734

open access: yesChemistry and Biodiversity
Eight depsidone derivatives (1–8), including three new compounds designated as westersidones A–C (1–3), were isolated from Westerdykella dispersa CS‐734, an endozoic fungus derived from the deep‐sea cold seep mussel Gigantidas platifrons.

Chemotaxonomic Studies on Some Stereocaulon (Stereocaulaceae, Lichenized Ascomycota) from Southern South America and Antarctica

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry
Lichenized fungi (lichens) produce many compounds especially those derived from the polyketide pathway. These are predominantly phenolic compounds, most of which are unique to lichens, and long-chain fatty acids.
