RNA Helicase DDX21 Controls CD4+ T Cell Proliferation and Promotes Inflammatory Bowel Disease via Translational Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by dysregulated T cell responses. RNA helicases, including DExD‐box helicase 21 (DDX21), are pivotal in RNA metabolism, but their role in T cell‐mediated pathology during IBD remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that DDX21 expression in CD4+ T cells correlates with cell cycle and translation ...

A Microbial Lipid‐ATP Synthase Axis Fuels NK Cell Antitumor Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study focuses on the mechanism by which gut microbiota‐derived outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) regulate NK cell antitumor activity. B. intestinalis is identified to decrease extra‐intestinal tumor growth via its OMVs enriched in sphingosine (SP).

Blackcurrant Alleviates Dextran Sulfate Sodium (DSS)-Induced Colitis in Mice

open access: yesFoods, 2023
Previous studies have reported that anthocyanin (ACN)-rich materials have beneficial effects on ulcerative colitis (UC). Blackcurrant (BC) has been known as one of the foods rich in ACN, while studies demonstrating its effect on UC are rare.

Redox‐Dependent Chaperoning of GBF1 Condensates Regulates Seed Germination in Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In dormant seeds (low ROS), GBF1 forms liquid condensates to repress the germination gene CathB3, and the chaperone GIP1 maintains condensate liquidity and repressive activity. Upon imbibition (high ROS), ROS oxidize GIP1 during germination, impairing its chaperone function.

Interaction of a macromolecular polyanion, dextran sulfate, with human hemoglobin

open access: yes, 1986
Interactions of dextran sulfate with amino groups of oxy- and deoxyhemoglobin were followed by both potentiometric measurements between pH 6 and 7.3 and oxygen-binding studies. The uptake of protons observed upon addition of dextran sulfate to hemoglobin
