Select amino acids in DGCR8 are essential for the UGU-pri-miRNA interaction and processing
Microprocessor, composed of DROSHA and DGCR8, processes primary microRNAs (pri-miRNAs) in miRNA biogenesis. Its cleavage efficiency and accuracy are enhanced because DGCR8 interacts with the apical UGU motif of pri-miRNAs.

ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a severe developmental anomaly with high etiological heterogeneity. Although numerous susceptibility genes have been identified, genetic factors alone fail to explain the full disease risk. Epidemiological data highlight the contribution of environmental exposures.

Large-scale identification of microRNA targets in murine Dgcr8-deficient embryonic stem cell lines. [PDF]
Small RNAs such as microRNAs play important roles in embryonic stem cell maintenance and differentiation. A broad range of microRNAs is expressed in embryonic stem cells while only a fraction of their targets have been identified. We have performed large-

Hallmarks of brain aging regulated by microRNAs (miRNAs). This graphical abstract illustrates the central role of miRNAs in coordinating key biological processes associated with brain aging. miRNAs regulate multiple interconnected hallmarks, including genomic instability, telomere attrition, epigenetic alterations, loss of proteostasis and impaired ...

Understanding Recognition of Primary MicroRNAs by Human Drosha/DGCR8
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small noncoding RNAs that regulate gene expression by suppressing messenger RNAs. The RNase Drosha, as part of the Microprocessor complex, performs the initial processing step in miRNA biogenesis.

Objectives. It has been shown that dysregulation of miRNAs expression contributes to the pathogenesis and progression of the diabetes and diabetes-related complications. Drosha, DGCR8, Dicer, and Ago-2 are involved in the miRNA maturation. The aim of the

RNA Modifications: Current Understandings and Future Perspectives
Types of RNA modification. We have summarized the currently common types of RNA modifications, including ac4C, m6A, m1A, m5C, m3C, m7G, and ψ, and visually characterized their features through structural formulas. The characteristic structures are marked with a background color different from the background color.
