Alkoxyallenes in Modern Synthesis: Reactivity, Catalysis, and Complexity Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 17, 1 September 2026.
The last decade has witnessed a remarkable transformation in alkoxyallene chemistry. Although historically employed as synthetic equivalents of acrolein or as versatile 3C synthons, alkoxyallenes are now increasingly recognized as highly adaptable platforms for synthetic design.

Transition Metal‐Free Vinylcyclopropanation of Olefins via Carbolithiation Reactions: Synthesis of 3‐Azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexanes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 17, 1 September 2026.
Readily accessible N‐allyl‐N‐2‐bromoallylamines undergo a tandem lithiation–cyclization cascade to furnish highly substituted 3‐azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexanes. The transformation proceeds without transition metals and delivers products with excellent diastereocontrol across a broad substrate range.

Cobalt/Photoredox Catalyzed Desymmetrization of Oxo and Azabicycles via Asymmetric Reductive Coupling With Alkynes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 52, 18 September 2026.
A one‐step, asymmetric reductive coupling of alkynes and oxa‐ and aza‐bicyclic olefins using a cobalt/photoredox catalytic system through desymmetrization. ABSTRACT Bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane frameworks represent a privileged structural motif prevalent in numerous natural products and bioactive molecules.
