Fermented Lacticaseibacillus Paracasei Cultures Ameliorate Colitis by Modulating Microbiota‐Derived Tryptophan Metabolism and Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A solid‐state fermented probiotic (PYW) is developed using wheat bran as substrate, containing high viable Lacticaseibacillus paracasei and bioactive metabolites. PYW alleviates intestinal inflammation by gut microbiota composition, enriching indole derivatives, activating aryl hydrocarbon receptor signaling, and regulating macrophage polarization. PYW

Low carbohydrate high fat-diet in real life; A descriptive analysis of cardiovascular risk factors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology. Cardiovascular Risk and Prevention
Aims: Low Carbohydrate High Fat (LCHF) diets are popular for weight loss or glucose control. The main source of energy in such diets is fat but the composition of nutrients varies This study aims to investigate dietary variations in a real-world LCHF ...

Palm kernel cake for lactating cows in pasture: intake, digestibility, and blood parameters

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2013
Multiparous dairy cows (n=16) of the Holstein x Gir crossbreed, with an average weight of 436.6 kg (±59.7), were tested to determine the best level of Palm kernel cake in a dietary supplement for lactating cows at pasture. The experiment utilized a Latin

A Natural Sweetener‐inducible Genetic Switch Controls Therapeutic Protein Expression in Mammals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a natural sweetener, the psicose‐inducible transgene expression (PURE) system based on an Agrobacterium tumefaciens–derived transcriptional repressor PsiR. The PURE system is highly specific to psicose, being insensitive to other sugars and structurally similar molecules.

Gut–Metabolome–Proteome Interactions in Age‐Related Hearing Loss: Insights from Fecal Microbiota Transplantation and Multi‐Omics Analyses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Germ‐free (GF) mice receiving fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) reveal microbiota‐dependent effects on auditory aging. Integrated metagenomic, metabolomic and proteomic profiling maps gut–inner ear network and highlights 5‐hydroxytryptophan (5‐HTP) as a microbiota‐linked metabolic hub in age‐related hearing loss (ARHL).

Prebiotic Properties of Carbohydrates in the Formation of Children’s Health

open access: yesZdorovʹe Rebenka, 2013
Сontent of dietary fibers, pectin and fibers in modern products is studied. The necessity for dysbiosis prevention is established on the basis of prebiotic properties of carbohydrates providing a synthesis of metabolites of two types (macroorganism and ...

HMGB2–RAD21 Axis Promotes Fibro/Adipogenic Progenitor Proliferation and Regulates Fat Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first developmental atlas of embryonic skeletal muscle fibro/adipogenic progenitors (FAPs) and identified an HMGB2+ FAPs subpopulation that regulates FAP pool size and muscle homeostasis. HMGB2 directly targets the RAD21 promoter, and its knockout significantly reduces FAP numbers, thereby lowering the potential for ...

Fluorinated Carnitine Derivatives as Tools to Visualise Carnitine Transport and Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fluorinated carnitines, fluoromethyl carnitine (FMC) and [18F]fluoromethyl carnitine ([18F]FMC), are synthesised and established as powerful probes to interrogate carnitine biology. The multimodal detection facilitated by fluorine labelling, including 19F NMR, mass spectrometry, and positron emission tomography imaging, allowed for visualisation of ...
