Forage legumes as feed for pigs in smallholder production systems in the North of Lao PDR [PDF]
This thesis sought to characterise and understand existing smallholder pig production systems in the North of Lao PDR and to investigate the role of forage legumes as alternative protein sources for pigs in smallholder production systems.

Developing recyclable materials for magnetic robotics that combine rapid response and self‐healing properties is challenging. Hence, this study focuses on the integration of magnetothermal nanoparticles into a dynamic sorbitol‐based vitrimer, a recyclable composite capable of remote actuation and self‐healing by magnetic heating.

Phase feeding for growing and finishing pigs (OK-Net Ecofeed Practice Abstract) [PDF]
Benefits Phase feeding will more closely match the pig’s nutrient requirements and minimise the over- and underfeeding of nutrients. The feed will be better utilised by the pigs, in favour of both production economy and reduced N-emissions.

Dietary Formulation with Cottonseed Meal on a Total Amino Acid Versus a Digestible Amino Acid Basis
The results of previous experiments indicated that performance of chicks fed corn-cottonseed meal (CSM) diets was inferior to performance of chicks fed a corn-soybean meal (SBM) diet and that true digestibilities of amino acids (AA) in CSM were lower than those in SBM.

The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...

Digestible lysine for broiler chickens with lower genetic potential grown on free-range system
Determining the actual lysine requirement is crucial as it is an essential amino acid and plays animportant role in the metabolism of broilers. In addition, it is the second limiting amino acid for broilers fed with rations formulated basedon corn and ...

Fluorescent Nanosensor for Indole‐3‐Propionic Acid Detection in Gut Health Monitoring
This work introduces a fluorescent nanosensor system with two optical modalities for detection of indole‐3‐propionic acid (IPA) gut metabolite: (1) blue‐emitting cationic conjugated polyelectrolyte (CP3) and (2) near‐infrared (NIR)‐emitting CP3‐wrapped single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWNT).

We describe a microfluidic tumor‐stroma co‐culture model, engineered to resist collagen‐hydrogel contraction driven by fibroblast activity. Surface silanization with APTES covalently anchors the matrix to the chip, while Genipin crosslinking progressively increases stiffness and elasticity without harming cells. This supports >10 days of co‐culture and
