Integrated model reference adaptive control to coordinate active front steering and direct yaw moment control

ISA Transactions, 2020
The paper proposes an integrated adaptive coordination technique for active front steering (AFS) and direct yaw moment control (DYC). The main contribution is to present an integrated multi-input multi-output (MIMO) adaptive control method to manage the variations of vehicle mass and tire-road friction coefficient as parameter uncertainties.

A novel direct yaw moment controller for in-wheel motor electric vehicles

Vehicle System Dynamics, 2013
A novel direct yaw moment controller is developed in this paper. A hierarchical control architecture is adopted in the controller design. In the upper controller, a driver model and a vehicle model are used to obtain the driver's intention and the vehicle states, respectively.

A hybrid stability-control system: combining direct-yaw-moment control and G-Vectoring Control

Vehicle System Dynamics, 2012
In this study, a 'hybrid stability-control' system based on two concepts - G-Vectoring Control (GVC) and direct-yaw-moment control (DYC) - was developed. This system controls deceleration according to the information on vehicle lateral jerk and yaw moment according to the information on vehicle sideslip.

Predictive Direct Yaw Moment Control Based on the Koopman Operator

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2023
In this brief, we propose a predictive algorithm for direct yaw moment control (DYC) in which a vehicle model is identified by a finite- dimensional approximation of the Koopman operator. The Koopman operator is a linear predictor for nonlinear dynamical systems based on raising the nonlinear dynamics into a higher-dimensional space where its evolution

Direct Yaw-moment Control Adapted to Driver Behavior Recognition

2006 SICE-ICASE International Joint Conference, 2006
This paper proposes direct yaw moment control system (DYC) based on driver intention. Considering driving tasks in lateral motions there are lane keeping lane change and etc. To reflect the driver intention on DYC system two types of desired yaw rate are proposed. One is for the lane keeping control and the other is for vehicle stability control.

Vehicle Direct Yaw Moment Control with Longitudinal Forces Distribution

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
In this paper, a vehicle stability control system is proposed to improve vehicle comfort, handling and stability. The control system includes reference model, DYC controller and Distributer. Reference model is used to obtain the desired yaw rate. DYC controller determines the desired yaw moment by means of sliding-mode technique.

Direct Yaw Moment Controller Design

2021
In the previous two decades, numerous studies have been conducted into improving vehicle handling and stability by direct yaw moment control (DYC) [44], [119], [185]. Most traditional ICVs on the market are equipped with brake-based VDC systems.

Direct Yaw Moment Control for Motorized Wheel Electric Vehicles

Volume 6A: 18th Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, 2001
Abstract A new control law for direct yaw moment control of an electric vehicle is developed. Although this study is considered as part of a global control system for the traction control of a four motorized wheel electric vehicle, but the results of this study is quite general and can be applied to other types of vehicles.

Direct yaw-moment control of vehicles based on phase plane analysis

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2021
In view of the problems related to vehicle-handling stability and the real-time correction of the heading direction, nonlinear analysis of a vehicle steering system was carried out based on phase plane theory. Subsequently, direct yaw-moment control (DYC) of the vehicle was performed.
