Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Improvement of Solubility and Dissolution of Niclosamide using Metal Organic Framework 5 (MOF-5)

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Metal-organic frameworks-5 (MOF-5) were explored for enhancement of the solubility and dissolution of the drug niclosamide (NIC). MOF-5 was synthesized by solvothermal method and NIC was loaded into it (NIC@MOF-5).

In vitro dissolution study of atorvastatin binary solid dispersion

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Pharmaceutical Technology & Research, 2013
The aim of the present study was to improve the solubility and dissolution rate of atorvastatin (ATV), a slight water-soluble drug, by solid dispersion (SD) technique using a hydrophilic carrier Poloxamer 188 (POL188).

Formulation and In-Vitro Evaluation of Meloxicam Solid Dispersion using Natural Polymers.

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2021
Meloxicam (MLX) is non-steroidal anti -inflammatory, poorly water soluble, highly permeable drug and the rate of its oral absorption is often controlled by the dissolution rate in the gastrointestinal tract.

Highly-crystallized quaternary chalcopyrite nanocrystals via a high-temperature dissolution–reprecipitation route [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Quaternary chalcopyrite (Cu2CoSnS4, Cu2ZnSnS4) nanocrystals displaying high crystallization and controlled morphology were synthesized via a high-temperature growth regime achieved by dissolution–reprecipitation of tailored ultrafine precursors in the ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
