Background Pre‐ and postpartum environments and genetic effects influence childhood internalising problems, which increase depression risk. DNA methylation (DNAm) may capture some of these effects. We therefore investigated associations between child blood DNAm and internalising problems.

Abstract Four new species of the small‐sized armoured catfish genus Pareiorhina are described from mountain ranges in the Grande River drainage, upper Paraná River basin, based on morphological and molecular species delimitation methods. Molecular analyses based on the cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) marker recovered Pareiorhina as polyphyletic ...

DNA extracted from boiled archival fish bones yields high‐quality whole‐genome sequencing data
Abstract Archival samples provide a unique source of organismal DNA, offering the potential to extend the temporal scale of genetic studies by decades to centuries. Fish hard structures, such as otoliths and scales, serve as records for fish collected during fisheries monitoring across a large spatiotemporal scale.

Abstract Methods using environmental nucleic acids have become highly effective for monitoring aquatic biodiversity, with an array of suitable use cases, including metrics for fisheries assessment. Traditional methods for assessing fish populations often rely on invasive techniques with limited spatial and temporal coverage.
