Bypass of a protein roadblock by a replicative DNA helicase [PDF]
Replicative DNA helicases generally unwind DNA as a single hexamer that encircles and translocates along one strand of the duplex while excluding the complementary strand (“steric exclusion”).

This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

Mutation of a major CG methylase alters genome-wide lncRNA expression in rice
Plant long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) function in diverse biological processes, and lncRNA expression is under epigenetic regulation, including by cytosine DNA methylation. However, it remains unclear whether 5-methylcytosine (5mOsMET1-2OsMET1-2−

Engineering the DNA cytosine-5 methyltransferase reaction for sequence-specific labeling of DNA [PDF]
DNA methyltransferases catalyse the transfer of a methyl group from the ubiquitous cofactor S-adenosyl-L-methionine (AdoMet) onto specific target sites on DNA and play important roles in organisms from bacteria to humans. AdoMet analogs with extended propargylic side chains have been chemically produced for methyltransferase-directed transfer of ...

Two kinds of self‐assembled RNA micelles were used to co‐deliver synergistic siRNA and nucleoside analogues for the treatment of colorectal cancer lung metastases. Near‐complete elimination of lung cancer metastases was confirmed in an orthotopic lung metastasis model constructed using human colorectal cancer lung metastases patient surgical samples to

Mammalian DNA (Cytosine-5-)-methyltransferase Expressed in Escherichia coli, Purified and Characterized [PDF]
Besides modulating specific DNA-protein interactions, methylated cytosine, frequently referred to as the fifth base of the genome, also influences DNA structure, recombination, transposition, repair, transcription, imprinting, and mutagenesis. DNA (cytosine-5-)-methyltransferase catalyzes cytosine methylation in eukaryotes. We have cloned and expressed
