Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Despite frogs avoiding low temperatures, examination of four salamander species revealed that none avoided cold and all possessed cold tolerance. Functional analysis of TRPM8, a cold sensor, showed that all salamander TRPM8s had lost their cold sensitivity.

The role of oxidative stress in male infertility: Connection to sperm telomere shortening and overall DNA damage [PDF]
Male infertility affects approximately 20% of men, with 30-40% of cases being linked to issues in both partners. While sperm production may be normal, DNA damage in spermatozoa can occur and become a primary cause of infertility.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

DNA fragmentation and morphological changes in apoptotic human lymphocytes
Cell suspensions enriched in cells at various stages of apoptosis were obtained by separation of irradiated human peripheral blood lymphocytes on density gradients at different post-irradiation times.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

A cost for high levels of sperm competition in rodents: Increased sperm DNA fragmentation
Spermcompetition, a prevalent evolutionary process inwhich the spermatozoa of two or more males compete for the fertilization of the same ovum, leads to morphological and physiological adaptations, including increases in energetic metabolism that may ...

Cryopreservation increases DNA fragmentation in spermatozoa of smokers
Smoking causes subfertility due to deterioration of spermatozoa including decreased concentration and abnormal morphology. Although evidence on the deleterious effects of smoking on spermatozoa parameters is well known, its interference with ...

Анализ связи фрагментации ДНК и анеуплоидий спермы с параметрами ранних эмбрионов
Aim. The dependence of the process of blastocyst formation in IVF practice on the level of sperm DNA fragmentation and sperm aneuploidies in men with low reproductive function was studied. Methods.

SPERM DNA FRAGMENTATION IN INFERTILE MEN OF KUZBASS
The standard method for diagnosing male infertility involves a spermogram, which does not always give a complete picture of male fertility. One additional method for assessing ejaculate is the sperm DNA fragmentation test (SDF), which determines the ...
