Drosha and DGCR8 in MicroRNA Biogenesis
2012Abstract Drosha and DGCR8 (also called Pasha), together known as the Microprocessor complex, are responsible for cleaving canonical microRNA primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) to produce microRNA precursors (pre-miRNAs) in animals. This specific cleavage serves as the entrance to the microRNA (miRNA) maturation pathway.
