Negative Regulation of YY1 Transcription Factor on the Dynamin I Gene Promoter

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2001
Dynamin I is highly expressed in brain and plays a critical role in clathrin-mediated endocytosis and synaptic vesicle recycling. To elucidate the molecular mechanism by which expression of dynamin I is tissue-specifically regulated, we previously cloned and characterized the promoter of the mouse dynamin I gene and suggested that there is a negative ...

Calcineurin Inhibition of Dynamin I GTPase Activity Coupled to Nerve Terminal Depolarization

Science, 1994
Dynamin I is a nerve terminal phosphoprotein with intrinsic guanosine triphosphatase (GTPase) activity that is required for endocytosis. Upon depolarization and synaptic vesicle recycling, dynamin I undergoes a rapid dephosphorylation. Dynamin I was found to be a specific high-affinity substrate for calcineurin in vitro.

Age‐ and experience‐dependent expression of Dynamin I and Synaptotagmin I in cat visual system

Journal of Comparative Neurology, 2007
AbstractDynamin I (Dyn I) and Synaptotagmin I (Syt I) are essential for endocytosis‐exocytosis processes, thus for neurotransmission. Despite their related function at presynaptic terminals, Dyn I and Syt I displayed opposite expression patterns during visual cortex maturation in the cat.

Small Molecule Inhibitors of Dynamin I GTPase Activity:  Development of Dimeric Tyrphostins

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2005
Dynamin I is a GTPase enzyme required for endocytosis and is an excellent target for the design of potential endocytosis inhibitors. Screening of a library of tyrphostins, in our laboratory, against the GTPase activity of dynamin I gave rise to a microM potent lead, 2-cyano-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)thioacrylamide (1, IC50 70 microM).

Case of dynamin 2 mutation‐related sporadic centronuclear myopathy with peripheral neuropathy

Neurology and Clinical Neuroscience, 2015
AbstractA 53‐year‐old man presented with bilateral ptosis, diffuse muscle weakness and easy fatigability, and was admitted to Toyonaka Municipal Hospital, Osaka, Japan. The patient was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in his childhood. Since then, he had been developing muscle weakness with atrophy.
