Abstract Advancements in biofuel production technologies are essential for reducing global dependence on fossil fuels and addressing their overexploitation. Many valuable components of biomass, such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, remain underused in traditional biorefineries, which typically rely on a single feedstock to produce a primary ...

Methyl transesterification of soybean oil using heterogeneous catalysts for biodiesel production. Abstract The growing global demand for renewable fuels has driven the search for efficient catalysts in biodiesel production. This study presents the synthesis and characterization of x_MoO3/Z‐22 and x_MoO3/MMP heterogeneous catalysts, and evaluates the ...

Application of Electrical Properties to Differentiate Lard From Tallow and Palm Oil [PDF]
This study aimed to differentiate lard from tallow and palm oil based on its electrical properties, namely conductance, impedance and capacitance. These properties were measured at spectra frequencies of 4.20 to 5.00 MHz in room temperature (26-27 oC ...

The Formation of Covalent Linkages in Lignocellulosic Biomass via the Oxocarbenium Intermediate
Density functional theory models show that the hydrated and acidic hemicellulose matrix in lignocellulosic biomass can generate oxocarbenium ions. These reactive intermediates can participate in the stable formation of glycosidic lignin‐carbohydrate covalent linkages, promoting recalcitrance in plant biomass.

Household coverage of vitamin A fortification of edible oil in Bangladesh.
Mandatory fortification of edible oil (soybean and palm) with vitamin A was decreed in Bangladesh in 2013. Yet, there is a dearth of data on the availability and consumption of vitamin A fortifiable oil at household level across population sub-groups. To

Novel organic solvents with an unmodified carbohydrate core were synthesised both from D‐xylose and directly from biomass and were successfully used as reaction media for lipase biocatalysts to synthesise aliphatic and aromatic polyesters. Abstract The use of organic solvents in academic research and industry applications is facing increasing ...

Circadian rhythm of epoxides and its diols in the kidney and plasma showed a significant light–dark manner. Furthermore, circadian disruption by timed‐imposed of EpSA from thermo‐induced oxidized oil during the inactive phase impaired renal function. ABSTRACT Modulation of circadian rhythms impairs homeostasis, resulting in altered susceptibility to ...

Current Advancements of Probiotic Foods and Their Role in Sustainable Food Security
ABSTRACT Probiotic foods have evolved from traditional fermented products to scientifically validated functional foods, defined by the FAO and WHO as live microorganism that confer a health benefit on the host when administered in adequate amounts, with effects being strain, does and end point specific.
