Biobased Polyurethane Films Based on Andiroba (Carapa guianensis) and Buriti (Mauritia flexuosa) Oil Polyols

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 30, August 10, 2026.
Polyurethane films were prepared from andiroba (Carapa guianensis) and buriti (Mauritia flexuosa) oil‐derived polyols, emphasizing their potential as bio‐based materials. UV–Vis analysis indicates the retention of carotenoid‐related chromophoric features within the polymer matrix.

Interindividual Variation in Chronic Inflammation in Northern Lao People's Democratic Republic

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 190, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives In many rural regions of developing countries, increasing market access is reshaping local food systems. Traditional diets rooted in local agriculture are being replaced by market‐driven alternatives. It is suspected that this dietary transition will contribute to rising risks of non‐communicable diseases through increased chronic ...

Design‐Driven Production of Soybean Oil‐Based Structured Fats as Potential Substitutes for Palm‐Based Fats

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, Volume 103, Issue 8, Page 873-886, August 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examined whether enzymatic modification of soybean oil (SBO) can be tailored to produce trans‐free fats with physicochemical properties comparable to palm olein, stearin, or palm‐mid fractions (PMFs). US‐grown SBO was modified by lipase‐catalyzed acidolysis using palmitic acid at linearly interpolated substrate molar ratios (C16:0 ...

Dietary Terpenoids in Advancing Biofilm‐Mediated Cancer Prevention: Antibiofilm Cascade, Molecular Crosstalk, and Nano‐Facilitated Functional Delivery

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 44, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The role of microbes in cancer is gaining attention these days, especially in the context of tumor‐associated biofilms and dysbiotic microbiota. Biofilm‐producing microorganisms, such as Fusobacterium nucleatum and Helicobacter pylori, trigger oncogenic inflammation and immune evasion in tumor initiation and progression, and in the development
