Non‐Invasively Quantitative Raman Imaging for Calculation of Lymphatic Transport Kinetics of Micelles in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Non‐invasively quantitative Raman imaging with stacking‐induced charge transfer‐enhanced Raman scattering (SICTERS) enables accurate measurement of concentrations and pharmacokinetic modeling of lymphatic transport of micelles in mice. This platform allows dynamic analysis of nanoparticle transport and underpins the design of effective lymph node ...

Combinatorial Exploration of Multidrug Polyspecificity in Efflux Pumps

open access: yes
A major feature of efflux pumps is multidrug polyspecificity, which to date still eludes some of the traditional dogmas of drug binding within protein science.

Restoring Endothelial Mitochondrial Homeostasis With a Bioactive Nanoshield Promotes Vascular Regeneration on Cardiovascular Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioactive poly(citrate‐polyglycol‐procyanidin) (PCGP) nanoshield is developed for cardiovascular implants to restore endothelial mitochondrial homeostasis following vascular injury. By preserving mitochondrial integrity, re‐establishing metabolic balance, and activating PI3K/Akt/eNOS‐NO signaling, the PCGP interface promotes functional endothelial ...

Sequential Regulation of Neurovascular Bone Regeneration in Large Bone Defects Using Black Phosphorus‐Europium Nanosheet Integrated TPMS Biomimetic Scaffold with Photo‐Controlled Ion Release

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TPBE scaffolds, in conjunction with mild photothermal effects, effectively activate the PI3K/Akt signaling cascade, thereby promoting early neuronal differentiation and neurite growth. Short‐term (12 W) in vivo implantation studies revealed no significant pathological damage to major organs, providing preliminary evidence of the material's excellent ...

Role of bacterial multidrug efflux pumps during infection

open access: yes
Multidrug efflux pumps are protein complexes located in the cell envelope that enable bacteria to expel, not only antibiotics, but also a wide array of molecules relevant for infection. Hence, they are important players in microbial pathogenesis.

Sex‐ and Time‐Resolved Physiological and Gut Ecosystem Responses to a Food‐Grade Microbiome‐Targeted Intervention in Collegiate Endurance Athletes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In collegiate endurance athletes, a 6‐week randomized CPYE intervention yielded time‐ and sex‐dependent shifts in field‐based cardiorespiratory, metabolic, and redox indices, accompanied by changes in gut multi‐omics profiles. An exploratory extension during intensified training generates hypotheses warranting future validation.

Efflux pumps mediate changes to fundamental bacterial physiology via membrane potential

open access: yesmBio
Efflux pumps are well known to be an important mechanism for removing noxious substances such as antibiotics from bacteria. Given that many antibiotics function by accumulating inside bacteria, efflux pumps contribute to resistance.

Upadacitinib Restrains the Pathogenic Fitness of CD4+ T Cells and Aberrant B Cell Programming in Optic Neuritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell profiling and functional perturbation reveal coordinated JAK1‐pSTAT3 downstream programs in optic neuritis, including MCL1‐dependent fitness of pathogenic CD4+ Tem cells and glycolysis‐linked, cholesterol‐sensitive B‐cell responses associated with RORA. Upadacitinib disrupts this reciprocal T‐B‐cell circuit and alleviates neuroinflammation,
