Programmable Carrier‐Free All‐Enzyme Beads for Modular Continuous‐Flow Biocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Genetically encoded enzyme building blocks self‐assemble into monodisperse, carrier‐free protein beads via a droplet‐based formulation strategy. These programmable catalytic particles enable modular continuous‐flow biocatalysis, from single‐enzyme reactions to multi‐enzyme cascades and bead–bead coupled reactor systems.

Two‐Step Thermal Upcycling of Flexible Printed Circuit Board Waste Into Metallic Copper Nanoparticles: Synthesis and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A two‐step thermal upcycling process converts flexible printed circuit board waste into high‐purity copper nanoparticles using polymer degradation and arc discharge. The synthesized nanoparticles exhibit controlled morphology and high metal purity.

Role of H- and D- MATE-type transporters from multidrug resistant clinical isolates of Vibrio fluvialis in conferring fluoroquinolone resistance. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
BACKGROUND: The study seeks to understand the role of efflux pumps in multidrug resistance displayed by the clinical isolates of Vibrio fluvialis, a pathogen known to cause cholera-like diarrhoea.

Evidence of an Efflux Pump in Serratia marcescens [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobial Drug Resistance, 2000
Spontaneous mutants resistant to fluoroquinolones were obtained by exposing Serratia marcescens NIMA (wild-type strain) to increasing concentrations of ciprofloxacin both in liquid and on solid media.

Intelligent Micro/Nanorobots for Targeted Interventional Therapy: From Bench to Clinic

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Zirui Zhang et al. reviewed the application and challenges of mobile nanomachines in interventional therapy. By converting exogenous energy, including chemical, magnetic, optical, and ultrasonic sources, into mechanical forces, micro/nanorobots (MNRs) enable precise actuation at unprecedented scales. Evolving far beyond traditional drug delivery, these

Cyclic Mechanical Loading of Cardiomyocytes via Pressure‐Driven Non‐Planar Membrane Deformation in a Bioreactor System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this research article, Mansoor and coworkers present a novel device that applies controlled mechanical stimuli to cardiomyocytes using pressure‐driven membrane deformation. By exposing cells to physiologically and pathologically relevant loading conditions, the platform reproduces distinct structural, functional and molecular responses associated ...

Smart Nanotechnologies for Multimodal Neuromodulation and Brain Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Recent advances in smart nanotechnologies are expanding the toolbox for brain interfacing, from wireless neuromodulation and high‐resolution sensing to targeted delivery within the central nervous system. By combining responsive nanomaterials with bioinspired design, these platforms enable multimodal interactions with neurons and glia, while also ...

PEAR1 Promotes Glucose Metabolism Reprogramming in Sepsis‐Associated Acute Lung Injury via AARS1‐Mediated HIF‐1α Lactylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study revealed that a PEAR1/HIF‐1α/ glycolysis/lactate/H3K18la positive feedback loop in PMVECs that drives the development of S‐ALI. Mechanistically, PEAR1 mediates the binding of HIF‐1α to AARS1, leading to the lactylation of HIF‐1α, the primary lactylation site of which is K172.
