Ultrasound Activated Piezoelectric Dural Patches to Drive Endogenous Neural Stem Cell–Mediated Repair Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a wireless, non‐invasive strategy for neural repair by developing a biodegradable piezoelectric dural patch that, under transcranial ultrasound, generates localized electrical fields to drive endogenous neural stem cells toward neuronal differentiation and functional integration.

Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

Key steps of a successful biological control against the sugarcane stemborer by inundative release of Trichogramma spp. : S1012TU08 Integrated Pest Management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
For over ten years, a biological control strategy by inundative release of Trichogramma chilonis (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) against Chilo sacchariphagus (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) has been studied (French collaboration between INRA, CIRAD and FDGDON ...

Egg Production

open access: yes, 2014
The present chapter deals with the estimation of female fecundity in fishes, mostly teleosts. The chapter is organized in three main blocks. The first block is devoted to technical issues of fish fecundity measurements from fixation, preservation and treatment of ovarian material to automatic oocyte counts. The use of certain staining protocols for the

Nanoscale Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry for Quantifying Membrane Fouling: Fouling Layer Structure and Chemical Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry (Nano SIMS) is established as a powerful analytical tool to visualize and quantify the membrane fouling layers. ABSTRACT Membrane technology has garnered considerable attention for applications in wastewater treatment and resource recovery. Nevertheless, membrane fouling remains a major barrier, yet the lack of
