Single‐cell sequencing reveals a regulatory role of WT1 in mast cell proliferation in endometrial polyps

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 9, 15 May 2025.
We used single‐cell and bulk RNA sequencing to analyze ectopic endometrial polyps (EPs) and adjacent eutopic endometrial tissues (EUs), identifying alterations in cell composition and transcriptional dynamics. Notably, mast cells showed increased activation with distinct transcriptional changes.

The roles of lipids in SARS-CoV-2 viral replication and the host immune response

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2021
The significant morbidity and mortality associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection has underscored the need for novel antiviral strategies. Lipids play essential roles in the viral life cycle.

A Case Study of a Female Infant With Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy Demonstrates That Early Initiation of Celecoxib Slows but Does Not Prevent Symptom Progression

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 197, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy (PHOAR1) is characterized by autosomal recessive loss of function variants in 15‐hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase (HPGD) leading to digital clubbing, periostosis, pachydermia, and severe hyperhidrosis. HPGD catalyzes the first step of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) degradation.

Role of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids (PUFAs) and Eicosanoids on Dry Eye Symptoms and Signs

open access: yesBiomolecules
Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) generate pro- and anti-inflammatory eicosanoids via three different metabolic pathways. This study profiled tear PUFAs and their metabolites and examined the relationships with dry eye (DE) and meibomian gland ...

Maternal IgE Influence on Fetal and Infant Health

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 331, Issue 1, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is the most recently discovered and evolved mammalian antibody type, best known for interacting with mast cells (MCs) as immune effectors. IgE‐mediated antigen sensing by MC provides protection from parasites, venomous animals, bacteria, and other insults to barrier tissues exposed to the environment.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids stimulate immunity and eicosanoid production in Drosophila melanogaster

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research
: Eicosanoids are a class of molecules derived from C20 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) that play a vital role in mammalian and insect biological systems, including development, reproduction, and immunity.
