Microfluidic chip-integrated vascularized endometrial complexes: Mitochondrial function and paracrine crosstalk enhance regenerative potential

open access: yesBioactive Materials
Endometrial injury is a prevalent gynecological condition that poses a significant threat to fertility and women's health. While the current reported endometrial organoids demonstrate potential in remodeling endometrial functions, they often lack the ...

Alteration of chemokine production in bovine endometrial epithelial and stromal cells under heat stress conditions

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, 2020
After parturition, cows frequently develop uterine bacterial infections, resulting in the onset of endometritis. To eliminate the bacteria, bovine endometrial cells secrete chemokines, such as IL‐6 and MCP1, which attract macrophages (MΦs) to the ...

A Biomarker‐Driven Ovary–Endometrium Organ‐on‐a‐Chip Mimicking 3D Multicellular Complexity and Menstrual Cyclicity for Predicting Reproductive Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a dual‐organ, biomarker‐integrated ovaryendometrium organ‐on‐a‐chip that recapitulates 3D tissue complexity, menstrual cycle dynamics, and hormonal crosstalk. This platform enables real‐time, cell‐typespecific fluorescent readouts of reproductive toxicity using ANGPTL4 and SERPINB2 as early‐response reporters.

Paeonol alleviates migration and invasion of endometrial stromal cells by reducing HIF-1α-regulated autophagy in endometriosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Landmark, 2021
Background: Dysregulated migration and invasion of endometrial stromal cells is implicated in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Hypoxia functions as critical microenvironmental factor that results in promotion of endometrial stromal cells migration and ...

Association of endometrioid ovarian carcinoma arising from endometriosis, endometrioid endometrial carcinoma, and high-grade undifferentiated endometrial sarcoma. a case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects women of reproductive age. Malignant transformation in endometriosis is considered to be an unusual event, only occurring in 0.7-0.1% of cases.

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Endometrial organoid and stromal cultures demonstrate donor-derived cellular origin of the endometrium after uterus transplantation

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
The human endometrium undergoes cyclical regeneration during the menstrual cycle, a process thought to be driven primarily by multipotent stem cells located within the basalis layer.

Prokineticin 1 is up‐regulated by insulin in decidualizing human endometrial stromal cells

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, 2017
Prokineticin 1 (PROK1), a hypoxia‐regulated angiogenic factor, has emerged as a crucial regulator of embryo implantation and placentation. Dysregulation of PROK1 has been linked to recurrent pregnancy loss, pre‐eclampsia, foetal growth restriction and ...
