ABSTRACT Ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation is a major risk factor for cataract development, but the molecular mechanisms underlying this process, particularly the involvement of regulated cell death pathways such as ferroptosis, remain unclear. Transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic analyses were performed on lens tissues from UVB‐induced cataract rat ...

Tachykinins Processing is Significantly Impaired in PC1 and PC2 Mutant Mouse Spinal Cord S9 Fractions [PDF]
Substance P (SP) play a central role in nociceptive transmission and it is an agonist of the Neurokinin-1 receptor located in the lamina I of the spinal cord.

This article reports the first genome sequence of a UK Alternaria brassicae isolate. Dual RNA‐sequencing profiling of A. brassicae‐infected Brassica juncea leaves identified differentially expressed genes involved in pathogenicity and host response pathways in moderately resistant Sej‐2 (2) and moderately susceptible Pusa Jaikisan cultivars.

We show by site‐directed mutagenesis that the catalytic residues of mammalian legumain, a recently discovered lysosomal asparaginycysteine endopeptidase, form a catalytic dyad in the motif His‐Gly‐spacer‐Ala‐Cys. We note that the same motif is present in

Summary Omics technologies have transformed research in haemoglobinopathies, yet the proteome of RBCs remains largely unexplored in transfusion‐dependent thalassaemia (TDT). In this proteomic analysis, Red blood cell (RBC) membranes from 48 adults with TDT were compared with healthy controls.

Schematic illustration showing that FAP‐α promoted angiogenesis, cytokine release and ECM degradation in the CEP degeneration of the intervertebral disc through upregulating the PI3K/Akt/HIF‐1α/VEGFA pathway. ABSTRACT Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is a primary cause of low back pain, with the development of new blood vessels being a key ...

Background The salmon louse, Lepeophtheirus salmonis, is an ectoparasitic copepod which feeds on the mucus, skin and blood of salmonid fish species. The parasite can persist on the surface of the fish without any effective control being exerted by the ...

Strain uses gap junctions to reverse stimulation of osteoblast proliferation by osteocytes [PDF]
Identifying mechanisms by which cells of the osteoblastic lineage communicate in vivo is complicated by the mineralised matrix that encases osteocytes, and thus, vital mechanoadaptive processes used to achieve load‐bearing integrity remain unresolved. We
