Laser‐Microscribed Glass Enables Surface‐Microfluidics‐Facilitated, Affordable, Rapid Cancer Diagnosis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A transparent, laser‐microscribed glass platform enables cancer diagnosis within 1 h—much faster than histology, which takes days, and free from the chemical or contrast risks of MRI or CT scans. The antibody‐functionalized rough glass surface captures viable cancer cells directly from suspension, allowing instant optical readout and offering a rapid ...

An Ultrafast Self‐Gelling Versatile Hydrogel for Rapid Infected Burn Wound Repair in Military Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐gelling PG@PAC (POD/Gel‐CDH@PA/CHX) powder is developed for infected burn care in austere settings. Upon contact with wound exudate, it instantly forms an adhesive hydrogel, providing simultaneous hemostasis, broad‐spectrum antibacterial activity, reactive oxygen species scavenging, and immunomodulation. In a murine model of S.

Micro and Nanostructural Diversity of Lizard Osteoderm Capping Tissue in Relation to Mechanical Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that lizard osteoderm capping tissue is a hyper‐mineralized hydroxyapatite layer consistently covering the superficial osteoderm surface in those species studied here, yet it varies greatly in morphology, nanostructure, and mechanical performance across species.

Epidermal stem cells: skin surveillance and clinical perspective

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
The skin epidermis is continually influenced by a myriad of internal and external elements. At its basal layer reside epidermal stem cells, which fuels epidermal renovation and hair regeneration with powerful self-renewal ability, as well as keeping ...

Dual‐Layer Living Hydrogel Enables On‐Demand Delivery of Phages and Probiotics for Synergistic Wound Infection Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐layer living hydrogel, ProΦGel, integrates bacteriophages and probiotics for synergistic wound infection therapy. The outer gelatin‐based matrix releases phages on demand in response to P. aeruginosa infections, while inner alginate beads sustain probiotic delivery.

Reflectance confocal microscopy for differentiating clear cell acanthoma from squamous cell carcinoma in situ

open access: yesTurkderm Turkish Archives of Dermatology and Venereology
Background and Design: There are few reports on the in vivo reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) features of clear cell acanthoma (CCA). This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic ability of RCM in CCAs that are difficult to diagnose clinically and to ...

Biomaterials‐Based Hydrogel with Superior Bio‐Mimetic Ionic Conductivity and Tissue‐Matching Softness for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By mimicking the ion‐accelerating effect of ion channel receptors in neuron membranes, a biomaterials‐based ionic hydrogel (BIH) is developed, which offers a high ionic conductivity of 7.04 S m−1, outperforming conventional chitosan, cellulose, agarose, starch, and gelatin based ionic hydrogels.
