Ignition of lean fuel-air mixtures in a premixing-prevaporizing duct at temperatures up to 1000 K [PDF]
Conditions were determined in a premixing prevaporizing fuel preparation duct at which ignition occurred. An air blast type fuel injector with nineteen fuel injection points was used to provide a uniform spatial fuel air mixture.

An Equivalence Test between Mantel-Haenszel Rate Ratio and Standardized Mortality Ratio
In the analysis of stratified person-time follow-up data, the multiplicative incidence rate model requires the rate ratio homogeneity across strata. This homogeneity assumption is statistically convenient but biologically stringent. When we do not have any strong biological models on incidence rate ratio homogeneity, we cannot justify using the ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Spark Ignition of Monodisperse Fuel Sprays [PDF]
A study of spark ignition energy requirements was conducted with a monodisperse spray system allowing independent control of droplet size, equivalent ratio, and fuel type.

A Machian Request for the Equivalence Principle in Extended Gravity and non-geodesic motion
Starting from the origin of Einstein general relativity (GR) the request of Mach on the theory's structure has been the core of the foundational debate. That problem is strictly connected with the nature of the mass-energy equivalence.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

The performance of diffusion flame (DF) burners strongly depends on how effectively combustion gases mix and retain heat, yet the influence of exhaust nozzle geometry on these processes remains insufficiently characterized.

Equivalent therapeutic ratio of salbutamol given by Turbuhaler®and Diskus™
Some inhalers have been claimed to give better deposition, resulting in higher efficacy. In a previous study we did not find any evidence of different potency of salbutamol given either via pMDI or Turbuhaler. The aim of the present study was to compare the efficacy and safety of salbutamol given via Diskus or Turbuhaler.

This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Flame structure simulation in a methane/air coflow partially premixed burner
The effect of the equivalence ratio on the partially premixed methane / air laminar flame structure, in a coflow atmospheric burner was simulated. Three equivalence ratios were studied (Φ=1.6, Φ=2.0, Φ=3.5) keeping constant the released energy.
